Hookah Problem!

Hi guys, lil problemo with my hookah which i cant seem to fix!

So I had some friends around to smoke the new KM hookah! AF Strawberry with 2 quicklight CH coals..and it was pretty fine for me but they said to me that they had to pull very hard for them to feel as if they are gettin smoke! I adjusted the air valve for them but not any change.

Any of you had the problem of drawing really hard to feel as if your taking in smoke? My girlfriend had a problem with it too and said, drawing really hard gave her a headache after 5 minutes!

There is no problem here. KMs just have an easier draw than most (cheaper) hookahs. Every single one of my friends told me the exact same thing when they first smoked my KM, because they're so much easier to pull than cheap chinese hookahs. Tell them to just pull normally on it and they'll get a good amount of smoke (assuming everything is set up right)

You want to make it 'feel' like theyre pulling in more smoke? Poke smaller holes, and fewer. That'll make it harder to pull and probably make them 'feel' like they're getting more smoke, even though they'll be getting less.

Im using the crappy hose that came with hookah but im pretty sure with smoking with this hose only for the 2nd time shouldn't cause this much of a problem. I blew through the hose for about 2 minutes before starting up. Its kind of hard to explain but you gotta draw quite hard for the water to bubble. When my friends and girlfriend draw it, they get no bubbling..and really thin smoke!

In my case, its quite easy for me to draw hard..but for them, its difficult!

THAT, is not normal. and to everyone else here would indicate some type of airflow problem, which we are all duly attempting to help the OP identify and correct.

haha you guys are legends! Im just at work right now and signed on to tell you that my order from john has arrived which im really excited about...... and BAM!!! full of helpful posts..i feel like a kid with this much attention lol! As me and NoB discussed, I believe its the torn vase GASKET that I used which was given to me by hookahshop.co.uk..which relates to antouwan's comment, that there must be some sort of air flow problem! When I do another session, Il make sure everything is air tight..and definitely will try the wet paper towel method.

At the time, I was using a normal egyptian bowl which I will not be using anymore since I received my phunnel today. Not gonna be using AF, since I received my tangiers lucid flavour and also not the pipe because I just got the v3 narbish mofo's! YIPEE!! lol.

Im gonna try the new items out on the hookah and if I still have the same problems..I will definitely post up again! Thanks to all of you guys..especially the video by Charley, thanks bud! and Vladimir..the pulling hard sure does help..haha!

Well I get off work in about an hour or so and Im gonna race home to get this tangiers flavour in a shallow clear tub! I've read the instructions on the leaflet which came with the flavour but I wanted more of an insight to what some of you guys did when you received your flavour? I mean, did you exactly leave the flavour out in the air for a few hours or was it put in the tub and half covered with the lid? Any suggestions..I just really want to get this right the first time and not have a bad experience as most do when using tangiers in a phunnel bowl for the first time.

Again, you guys have been great! Its much appreciated.

If you are using a KM hose then its your bowl or your hose. Your bowl is either over packed constricting the holes on the bottom. or the holes in your foil are too small or not enough. Try sucking through the bowl before you put it on the stem after you pack it.

Lucid is the washed form of tangiers, and because of that, there's no need to acclimate, just unpack and SMOKE!!!

Thank you for ridding me of that ignorance. No I did not read the entire thread, I read most of it but I guess not the important parts LOL.. But to be fair I did only claim to read the original post.

Wasn't trying to come off as a tough guy at all; I guess I have an aggressive tone through typing? It is certainly not intentional but I suppose I am already disliked by N[R]B for standing up for mobile-hookah-ers' rights in that one thread.

The way that the original post was worded just reminded me of an interaction I had had recently regarding my KM and people being shocked at how easy it was to pull
