dizzbizz
So my most recent topic was getting my first perfect bowl with OG Tang. I achieved that again just now. When I smoke by myself I tend to get better sessions, opposed to sessions with friends. Maybe its just me but does anyone else get this too? seefoodlover
it's always kind of embarrassing when you don't have as good of sessions with your friends. They can be very distracting sometimes...
dizzbizz
I dont nessecarily get bad sessions with friends, theyre usuall really good. I just get better ones by myself. I also noticed tang expands with heat. For example, I always squish it down with foil but when I start smoking it becomes a little hill instead of a flat surface. The Caterpillar
Definitely, that performance anxiety will go away in time. Hell, it might even be that you're too worried and that anxiety transfers through the hose
hookah hippie
Sometimes when people smoke with friends they tend to speed through the setup process maybe this is your problem.

joytron
When smokin by yourself you can always tell when the shisha is about to burn. A lot of times when you are smoking with other people they tend to pass on the hose even when it is starting to burn
Nutshell
This happens with me too.Even at the very beginning it can be bad just because of it.I'm going to guess it's that I rush more to get it ready faster.
Arcane
mine is the opposite....my sessions with a group of people are actually better...mostly, because i tend to pay more attention to what i'm doing when other people want to smoke...if its just me, i'm more inclined to say "eh...that's good enough"...instead of the "wait, this could be better.." Codename067
Only when I want to watch a movie alone.Or right after a hefty meal. <-- A++I can say that I am able to maintain the life span of the bowl better alone, because sometimes you pass the hose to someone, they would smoke and not realize if its burning or not, and keep the coals on it. But sessions with friends are always better overall.

Jacob Shock
shisha burns faster with friends because the hose gets so much action.
Brandon`
I acually don't like smoking alone. I can't smoke in my house so I smoke in the garage with no entertainment so it gets boring after 10 mins i've acually done a 2 minute session of Mizo White Grape. It gets boring. skmiller
I prefer to smoke alone as opposed to with others. Reason being, I always want the hose. When your with other people they tend to hog the hose for too long and sometimes you forget your even smoking by time it gets back to you. The only person I actually dont mind smoking with is my brother because he will pack the bowl and set everything up and also manages the coal. So I get to be extra lazy. vballpro
I agree with most of the people on here. I like to smoke with people but it just becomes so cumbersome. I'm the only person who knows how to work it... so I have to get it ready, pack the bowl, poke the holes, and then I spend the rest of the time making sure the coals aren't burning the shisha. None of my friends have any idea what they are doing. It's almost like I want to sit them down and explain it, so I'm not the only one who has to take care of it. Arcane
i've never had a problem with smoking in groups....i set up the hookah, take a few pulls and check if everything is on point....then my friends go to town on the hookah...i'll either be bs'ing with other people or eating..and every now and then, i'll hear "Jay! Something's wrong..." i just go over to the hookah, take a pull and make adjustments...it's one of the reasons why i learned to pack in a way where i don't have to touch the coals....that way i don't have to babysit my hookah. and my friends know not to mess with the coals... Bulldog_916
I prefer to smoke alone like some of you. It's my relax time away from everyone to unwind. I destress and just enjoy myself. I enjoy when other people smoke with me though, dont get me wrong. I just prefer to smoke on my own.
boludo
I think is the pressure of making a perfect bowl. I find that when I invite friends over (specially the ones that have never smoke hookah), I always try to make it perfect, and the result is not always perfect. When I smoke alone, I do not have that stress, so me bowls tend to be better.
