nkarim
Hi,I bought the natural charcoals because I heard they produce better smoke and better tasting also even though they take a while to light up. But I tried it a few times but the smoke tastes like coal the whole time. I tried the same flavor with the quick light and it taste a lot better. Is there a certain way I have to pack the bowl or light the coals? someone please help. Thanks

Codename067
Yes, make sure they are DONE well before you use them. They tend to sometimes be hotter than regular hookah coals [the natual coals I use are at least], so be careful with Heat Management. fillup
Yea, also as code said Heat management is key. If you have too many coals on it it wills start to burn and taste like burnt charcoal. I normally start out with 2 broken coals and just use 1/2 pieces on it. When it starts to warm up I go down to 2 and adjust accordingly.
inino
I use the smart and final coals too. They are the best bang for your buck I have ever used. make sure your coals are fully lit, then place them around the outside.

I light lots of them and have coals all night. No fears in wasting coals, also they have the least amount of coal flavor added to the bowl, even less than Coco's or GC's IMO. Go to just about any hookah bar here in southern california and you will see them all using the same stuff.
