DownZero
I'm used to paying $6.50 for hookah rental and a bowl.. then 2.99 for a refill... but then again I believe they are using Al-Amir and some flavors are Al-Waha (such as 5 star... which I like) I'm not sure if I would pay that much per bowl.. but then again I am a full time college student w/ money saved up from a previous job. Honestly, for them premium brands, I would rather just smoke at home... But I'm cheap since I don't have much cash... Perhaps this makes my opinion invalid
mushrat
Sorry I've been MIA. Its been a rough few weeks. I appriciate everyones feedback on this thread. I think the 6,8,10 system will be a good place to start.
NEO_WRX
those are VERY fair prices compared to the local shop i frequent. their prices are 8$ for Havana, 9$ for some Al Amir or Hookah-Hookah, 12$ for a starbuzz and...dun dun dun 15$ for a Tangiers bowl . They don't even put the tangiers on the menu, since it's a pretty "advaned" bowl to get smoking. I am on very good terms with the manager so i only let him pack my bowls. It's owned by a couple of college kids and they can pack some lazy bowls. I'm talking to the manager(my friend) at the cashier station and i see one of the employee's grab a hunk of shisha with some tongs, literally just throw it in the bowl and slap the foil on it. If i'm paying 12-15$ for a bowl...i'd expect it to not be just slap-dash thrown together.
mushrat
Preliminary Ma'asell menu: Nakhla: 2 apple, melon, chocomint, mandarine Al Amir: Blackberry, white grape, pomegranet, peach Starbuzz: Orange, SS blend (lemon mint), Raspberry,Vanilla, Melon, Peach What do I need to add? cafedelmar
At cafes, my favourite flavour is always mixed fruit. I'm not too sure about which brand would be the best, but maybe in Nakhla. A lot of first timers, non-Hookah heads might enjoy it

[/quote]Nice. I *hate* Nakhla, so no comment there. Decent AA selection, maybe another "standard" flavor for that line, just for those of us who want a higher quality smoke than the Nakhla, but a more popular flavor. AA makes a decent watermelon. Or an apple flavor maybe (not 2x). *Wonderful* prelim choices of Starbuzz. Nice flavors there.
Scheetz
I dont understand what is so bad about Nakhla. I have been smoking it for 3 years now and I love it. Granted I have never tried starbuzz or tangiers to see what the expensive stuff tastes like. All my local lounges dont give you an option on what kind, they all serve nakhla. This is what I am going to do when I open mine in 2 years also. The only thing holding me back right now, is how much per year a lounge nets the owner. I dont plan on making $50k the rest of my life. Hrmm, opening and selling might be my best bet, put a few years in then sell. Mush im going to send you a pm if you dont mind. mush i guess your prices sound good, but you may want to include a few more flavors in each. Im use to having 25 flavor choices of nakhla and i normally try to smoke each one, atleast just so I can try it. try for watermelon, mixed fruit, strawberry, bahraini (maybe not bahraini, but its my personal favorite)
hookah~rob~
ok guys went to the lounge in the burgh and it was 15 for a hookah with unlimited coals and a couple more dollars for extras like getting juice in the vase and mixing flavors
Bleeding_Heart1
well this summer on vacation i paid 40 for a f**king hookah!!!
ghostofdavid
I know this does not really answer your questions, but the local hookah bar here gives you unlimited coals and a full (average size bowl) bowl packed with Havana or their House Blend for $8.50... free if you come in for the Dinner meal. I wish I could recommend you flavors, but I don't have enough experience with those brands yet. I highly all of the Havana flavors I have had though. Joey32b
Those prices seem really cheap to me for hookah rentals. In San Diego, the lounges charge at least $15 for hookah rental and up to $20, regardless of brand. The only exception is Tangiers' lounge, Oddessey, which charges $10. So I guess to answer your question, I would definitely pay those prices.
Tessai
Those prices are very good and competative I would say. I would suggest having just 2 brands to start with one being the "regular" stuff and the other being the "premium" stuff. It would keep startup costs down and such without all the hassle of keeping so much stock. Nakhla=double apple, AF = white grape, Starbuzz= mango. My two cents. mushrat
Oh before I forget, once things get rolling, and I have a trusted staff...Tangiers! but that's going to be once everything settles down and is running smoothly... Didn't mean to slight you there buddy...the F-line is going to be a hit in a college town.... gunsboy
AF: Bahraini I would pay 15 if available with natural coal.
Lazy Dayz
mush, i would definately add starbuzz watermelon. it consistently outsells everything at my place and is a good neutral/mass appeal kind of flavor.
zombiedepot
That seems like it'd be a fair price as long as service was good.

Lazy Dayz
yeah, the people love it. i think there are better flavors (guava for instance) but what can you do. as mr. tangiers himself told me, you gotta give the people what they want. check out our website, we have all our flavors up there. i can let you know what sells and what not if you want to pm me or discuss it here.
