thejoshman
maybe put a little more water in your vase, and repack your bowl. like pack the tobacco in there, like pack it. and make sure your coal IS NOT over the large hole in the bowl. and make sure the coal is red hot when your put it on and do not push down on the coal, just set it lightly on there. and it should be good. if not, clean your pipe. if not. im stumped. I know im not burning it..couple things i can think off, 2 full coco's may be alot of heat for tang, take 1 coco and break it in and take another coco and break that in half..so use 3 half pieces..put the other half to the side for later..you said you packed it tight which is good, but tooth picks wont work..you need nice big holes..poke all the way to the bottom..here check out this vid from eric of tangiers follow this vid and you should be ok..if none of this works then i would guess its not acclimated yettangiers packing video
alexander
2 full Cocos is probably too much heat, try splitting your coals in half and using 3 halves. Tangiers really doesn't like much heat. It does have a bit of a tickle to it, but it certainly shouldn't be that harsh.

Arcane
without seeing it, i could only guess not enough tobacco or too much heat...did you use 3 bowls of the same flavor? is it phunnel? what size?if it's a small, you should have about 2 to 2.5 bowls left....if it's a medium, you maybe have 1 bowl left....if it's a large, you messed up someone between bowls 1 and 2...if you have more than the stated amount...you're not using enough tobacco... Hookie The Hookah
Does the tobacco smell good? Also, it's noir. As in the french word for black...
Zinite
2 cocos is too much for a small phunnel. Break your cocos in half (a serrated steak knife works to cut it) and use 3 halves in a triangle pattern.
Stuie
I have been smoking my mini with 3 halves it's a little harsh, but i tried 4 halves on my small... let's just say i dropped a coal pretty quick.
inino
a vid of you packing it would be the best way for us to give you specific advice. when I pack a small i pack i mis the tobacco really really good then fork it in press it down with foil, look for about 1/8" indentation, tighten the foil, put one coal on each side and rip away. your heat sounds fine I think its gonna be something with your packing.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACfPMVGV2V0...D4&index=10another video for you. The Caterpillar
I believe Cocos in general to be too hot for OG. However, make sure youre using heavy duty foil. Also, I found double layers of regular width foil to be a decent heat barrier as well. I know lots of people who find hookah bliss with double foil. The real answer is Golden Canaries... there is no hype to these coals-- there is only truth. Hunkies!
i had the same problem smoking tang, i was using two hole CH naturals and it would burn my throat like crazy. then i tried splitting two coals and using three halves, perfection! Also the double layers of foil is a effective heat barrier as stated. Twisted
I keep seeing everyone saying 2 full coco's is too much on a small.....I have always used 2 with no problems at all. Tastes great, smokes great. I don't know why it works but it does.
Bulldog_916
Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt. I think instead of splitting coals, just set the coals up on their side. I do it all the time and it increases the amount of time it takes for the coal to dwindle down.
ryno
Are you using cold water or ice in the base? If so that can make tangiers harsh. You should try it with warm water. I know it sounds odd, but it really does work with Tangiers alot better.
LIQUIDGSR
What helps in getting a better buzz. I have the harshness, but there is no buzz at all when I smoke the OG stuff.

You wont be getting a buzz if you burn it because you cant take it into your lungs without coughing. If it doesnt go into your lungs it wont get into your blood and wont cause a buzz. LIQUIDGSR
Its not that harsh where im not getting clouds or flavor. Just a tiny bit of scatchyness in the back of my throat if I pull really hard. Otherwise its fine for the most part. Lucid definatly has a better taste, but don't get me wrong im not just smoking to sacrafice taste.

Arcane
yeah, in my opinion....Noir is more "flavorful". i'm not sure if the actual flavor is stronger...however, i compare nicotine to salt on food. the food's flavor doesn't increase or decrease, its just the salt makes it more perceptible...i think that's the right way to say it....
