Brandon`
Now recently I have been coughing like crazy so I decided to go to the doctors and he announced that I have pneumonia. From the X-Ray, My whole left lung was covered. He told me it was from my water pipe and that I have to stop. Over the past 2 months I started getting to the range of 3-5 times a week I would smoke. He told me if I don't stop, (Eww just puked) I'll have a 80% chance of getting alot worse and getting lung cancer. If I stop, I got a 25% chance of getting lung cancer. Hookah's not worth that much to me so I have to stop. I'm just wondering I hear that people smoke 3-4 times a DAY. Y did this happen to me from 3-5 times a week? He told me I have sensitive lungs but still they're are alot of hookah smokers out there why me out of everyone? I cough every 10 seconds and puke every 50 coughs in my mouth. Anyone ever got this bad? Should I quit or slow down or just wait? Let me know, Thanks. I should be putting all my stuff in the trade thread sooner or later so check that out when you get a chance.Thanks.Brandon`
Zyram
Well, if you find yourself getting sick, stop until you are better. The only way to find out if it's truly the hookah is to cut it out, get better and see if you get better. Check out your house for allergens or mold or any other causes of respiratory problems as well while you are at it. I had the swine flu and still smoked when I was over the worst part, now if I had a cig I'd hack up a lung, but if I had hookah it only made my throat hurt (just had a raw throat from cough, so lots of water made that better).-Z
vballpro
That sucks dude. I agree with Zyram, cut it out for a bit, and if it gets better... than you can get back to it.
no longer welcome
what exactly do you smoke on a reg basis, what coals, and do you clean your hookah?
AKammenzind
Uhm... you got mad pansy lungs haha. And how exactly did the doc get those figures on your chances of cancer? Sounds like canned doc speech kinda bullshit.
StayPuff
I agree with AK, how can he determine your chances on cancer with an X-ray?
cxc5120
I am very skeptical to believe this.. Im not calling you a liar at all though lol. How long have you been a hookah smoker?
Tyler
Right, and people who smoke 3-4 packs a day have less of a chance of getting cancer? I'm sure. Sounds like the doc knows shit about hookah.
Chreees
I don't think hookah is causing your illness.
king_lunchb0x
my 2 cents: I dont think the water pipe made you that sick, although smoking while ur sick is not the best thing either. Take a break is a great idea... Those stats are very interesting, Of course ur increasing ur risk of cancer by smoking, but everyperson is different. SO how he knew exactly what ur chances are going to be is pretty amazing.hope u get better.
alexander
Pneumonia is caused by bacterial infection or by a virus, not by smoking hookah. If it's bacterial, just take a break from smoking, finish off your prescription of antibiotics, and then start smoking again. If it's viral, well, you'll just have to wait it out. I have a feeling your doctor is simply anti-tobacco and is using this to try and scare you into quitting.

Your doctor either doesn't know what a hookah is (he must think it's sort of bacteria breathing-in device), or doesn't know what pneumonia is (he must think it means your lungs smell delicious from all that tasty hookah). Jacob Shock
i smoke 3 to 4 times a day, depending on bowl size. no problems here.
inino
Most lung doctors all hate hookahs. My uncle is one and he uses scare tactics on me all time. I just say all the tests are flawed and other stuff. but if you are sick i would definitly stop for the time being. the smoke could prolong your illness. best of luck man and take care. Brandon`
I smoke Nak/Af/Tang Lucid using coconara's. Yes I clean my hookah every 3-4 smokes. And he didn't literatly give me those percentages i''m just guessing what he said when he said u got a "very high chance of getting lung cancer if you continue to smoke" and "Ur changes are alot lower if you stop". I'm not saying he gave me those exact percentages. I've smoked for 3 years and deeply got into it the past year with getting my own hookah and starting a collection and the whole phunnel thing as opposed to going to lounges to smoke. inino
personally i clean every time, but i dont think that has alot to do with your illness. honestly I just want one real test of the dangers of hookah, something unbiased and true.

shalowlow
Um....I like sheesha as much as anyone on here...but really? What do you expect people to tell you from a forum about sheesha?I would listen to my doctor, no matter what all these sheesha addicts say....don't risk your health when a doctor has made a direct correlation even if his reasons may be suspect.
