Energy drinks?

Recommended Posts

Trout: Oh no, with many of the ingredients you'll find in them, sugar, caffene, a few others, they will definitly jack your body up. Of course, so will a cup of coffee and a powdered donut, probably in about the same way too....
What I'm more interested in is what people would actually BUY in a cafe/bar.
Thanks for the replies....more silly questions to follow...keep the answers coming!

i dont like the idea of energy drinks at a hookah bar.  i see hookah bars as a sophisticated and suave place to hang out and energy drinks usually cater to the opposite crowd. that being noisy testosterone filled teenage boys. Im just not sure there is any need for energy drinks in a hookah bar. I mean hookah is meant to be chill right? and energy drinks are meant to pump you up. that said my favorite energy drinks are the no fear one and bawls. i just wouldnt drink them with hookah, and certainly never would order one in a hookah bar.

When I drink energy drinks its usually just to stay alert. I don't know... smoking hookah can make you a bit sleepy sometimes. If you're trying to stay social, out late at a hookah bar or something you might want a cup of coffee or an energy drink. Actually... I think I'd prefer some iced green tea above everything  (actual green tea, that is... not this Arizona Snapple sugar garbage that's been taking off in the states lately...)

There is this one energy drink I had that was really good it had about as much caffiene in it as a half a cup of coffee to give you energy it relied on vitamin mostly B complex and very little sugar It also didn't taste like medicine. I'll get hold of the person who sells them and find out the name and if you want to try one pm me I'll see if I can ship one to you. The one I tried was root beer  it was  very good.

Well, I drink around 10 cups of coffee a day, so when I need another source of caffeine, I will get monster or bawls.  But never with hookah.  I only drink coffee or sake, jack daniels, and other such drinks.  I have yet to see a hookah lounge that carries those other drinks.

I think a beer would be nice with the hookah, although that combo would make me mighty thirsty.Maybe some elegant, yet simple, mixed drinks?Like for example:Smoking some lemon hookah, and drinking a bullfrog (lemonade + vodka + ice) would be refreshing and delicious. As for energy drinks, I stay away from them, all sugar, and they might certainly attract the wrong crowd.

hookah= chill and relaxed respectfull atmosphereenergy drinks = teenage boys trying to prove how manly they arewhich do you want your bar to cater to? if you attract the testosterone filled 18 year old guys by making them think hookah is just a cool thing to add to their sub par personality, you will drive off the serious respectful customers. Some high class bars even enforce a mild dress code to try and make a statement that good behavior is expected. tea and coffee are a must. energy drinks are unneccesary.

I drink Red Bull in the mornings when I need a little extra
go... From what I can tell its does the same thing as coffee. The main reason I
drink it is because I really don't like plain coffee and I'm not about going to
Star Bucks...

Personally I don't think Energy drinks would be a problem at a lounge. People
drink coffee, Arabic coffee, & tea at lounges like its going out of
style... how’s another caffeine drink going to hurt?

If you are going Hookah BAR and not Hookah Cafe I would probably recommend
carry Red Bull or another energy drink. People will buy it outright or mix it
with something off the bar... If you're going Hookah Cafe (no alcohol) I would
probably buy some to test market before adding to menu, etc. Here in Dallas
most of the hookah lounges that I know carry Red Bull and I have seen it sell
well. This includes higher end lounges like Velvet hookah were the rift raft is
not common.

Considering how late hookah Bars/Cafes usually stay open anything caffeinated
is probably a safe bet

I dont get your theory about energy drink attracting the wrong crowd, its just a drink and u can card so nobody under 18 can get in. I think an energy drink is good with shisha because smoking makes me a bit sleepy, especially when its late and im about to drive 45mins back to my house from the lounge. I dont think You would have some 18 year olds crushing 8 cans of redbull and being loud and obnoxious in the lounge, and if they did kick them out!

To answer mushrats question, i like Rock Star Energy drinks. But im
sure the type of energy drink that would sell the most would be Red
Bull. I think it is very smart to have energy drinks in a hookah bar,
keeps people awake and alert . I cant count the amount of times ive
been falling asleep in the lounge and saying lets go home. The more
they are awake the more time they spend at the lounge, the more time
they spend at the lounge the more money they spend! Also who cares if
it attracts teenagers, guess what most hookah bars business comes from
teenagers and college students. You see the occasional older guy and
hes with 1-2 ppl and buying 1 hookah and maybe some hot tea. The
teenagers/young adults are buying food, multiple drinks, multiple
hookahs, and alot of the time buying hookah accessories for there
shisha at home also there coming in crowds(like 5-6 friends). The older
"traditional" arabs are spending half a day there and spending barely
any money.  In my honest opinion, who cares if your customers are
sophisticated stuck up people or if they are young "testosterone filled
teenagers" as long as there spending money and your making money im
happy!(as the owner) And usually hookah bars are so loud because of the
music playing you can't hear the person sitting across from you let
alone the table over!

i guess im not opposed to energy drinks as such. i just would hope they werent the main drink offered. im not casting judgement on anyone who likes energy drinks. Ive certainly been known to down a few while studying.
