First Session With The Temsaah

Recommended Posts

First session with the new 23" "Brass" Temsaah. I will post reviews once I get some more session in with it. I put brass in quotes because as you can see from the pictures only the top of the stem is brass, the internals appear to all be SS or nickle plated or something (but definately not brass)- which was actually good news in my book as this should be easier to maintain.

I felt like I didn't get the best smoke, but that may be caused by several factors- first off this was my first session with not only this particular hookah, but a smaller one to boot. It was probably the first time I packed AF alone (and didn't mix with my usual AW)... the new Narbish hose has a much wider guage which will take some getting used to... and the 30 degree temperature might have caused some problems as well happy.gif (and no, I have no portable heater lol).

My only real complaint would be that the inside edge of the tray is not raised, unlike on my other egyptian. The tray definitely is awesome looking, but this means ash gets all over the little base the tray sits on which isn't really an issue, but not exactly preferred either.

So far the Temsaah seems to be exactly what I wanted, at 23" it is much easier to clean and maintain so far than the 34" I have.

For anyone curious about the stem (much discussion has gone into what exactly is brass and whatnot on this "brass" hookah) all the pictures are here.

The "2" might be showing up in the trades section, I forgot that double apple, for some reason, is always anise loaded- I am not an anise fan. Maybe I can get some Mizzo or Lucid to try for a first happy.gif.

how does the narbish work is it solid

and have you by chance used a v1 narbish to compare it to
It is hard to say. It cleaned nice and easy, I was concerned as pulling just plain air it had a slight plasticky taste, after the second cleaning (prior to any smoking) it got somewhat better- but ended up noticing nothing while smoking.

I have never smoked with an aftermarket/washable hose before so I cannot really compare accurately. I will list my two complaints though (all of which are benefits to some)...

1- I am not a fan of long handles and thick hoses... I think it puts more pressure on the hookah, making a tip-over more likely, and I just do not like holding a big huge handle... I prefer the little wooden ones that aren't much longer than your hand.

2- The gauge is really wide... great yea I know, right? I personally feel as though I am not getting as much smoke when pulling through the larger gauge. However, this was not only my first time with this hose, but also my first time with this particular hookah- so it could easily have been just a poor setup/pack.

Let me put it this way... if you are looking for a washable hose like the Narbish, I cannot compare to others, but I would have no complaints about the Narbish (as most of them are wide gauged and big handled). And for my hangups, I have no intention of going back to my non-washable anytime soon.

those temsah's are really heavy. i wish they were price on average 35% lower than KM's just so more of them would get out there, but the reality is they are heavy brass and it adds up. I still don't own one, still love my km's, but everytime i handle one i think about how heavy they are. that is in addition to how great they look. not selling here, just stating an opinion.

I am confined to smoking in the garage too and I purchased for $60.00 from Costco a 1000W parabolic heater and the thing heats anything in front of it from 3'-10'. It's like a stellite dish and it saved me. I can hang out with the door shut without a jacket, a worth while investment. BTW the hookah is great, good luck.
