The Effects Of Co Maybe?

Recommended Posts

So lately, after getting all my supplies and my new hookah, I've been getting some weird side effects. I didn't really notice this at first, but after a smoke session, usually up to an hour, I'll get this slight pressure feeling around my head and a very slight achy feeling in my legs. I eat and drink plenty before each session. I use 2, fully glowing, coconaras on a 31" kremlin, to which I use every day up to 2 hours. And I only smoke shisha that is of the washed variety: Tonic, Golden Layalina, and Starbuzz. I want to chalk this up to CO, maybe I should try different coals, different smoking method, or cut back.

Why are so many people getting paranoid about CO2.
Try making a bigger hole in the middle. Not too big just about double the size of a regular hole. If you are using an egyptian clay head poke a hole and push the toothpick so it goes down then pull it out.

I realized you said "new hookah" Did you wash the hookah thoroughly before smoking out of it?

co2, huh?
Well it's kind alarming when I'm, seemingly, suffering the symptoms of CO poisoning: head ache, muscle ache and weakness...
But no, I use a steel screen(social smoke brand). I have had it for 2 weeks, granted I did not wash it initially, it has been cleaned everyday after use. It comes with a mod bowl, and I make damn sure it's not over packed, so... Edited by Red_Pyramid

This is also the beginning of me smoking this much. Been smoking hookah for almost a year, at roughly 4 times a week at 45 minutes...

Honestly those don't sound quite like the symptoms you should be getting.

It sounds more like it's just lack of oxygen not poisoning. Which while the two are closely linked. You're just smoking too much without any breathing time in between pulls or you're in an enclosed space with no fresh air incoming.

Try a few things to solve your problem. (assuming you're indoors)

1) light the cocos in a ventilated place OR light them in a separate room.

2) When you smoke make sure there is a source of fresh air coming from outside somewhere near by.

3) Take time to relax and enjoy the smoke don't be a Train.

Poisoning will result in a different reaction I think as your body tries to get rid of the poison (either an actual irritant or TOO much of a regular stimulant- yes nicotine poisoning is possible). The symptoms you describe sound a lot more like not enough of something- whether that be oxygen, water, food, whatever...

It could also just be a cold or something that is very mild, but the symptoms are being compounded by the smoking. Edited by Vladimir

Nope, I light the coals away from me, I never hoover, and I smoke in an air-conditioned room with a ceiling fan on...

Well, that would be poisoning, oxygen is prevented from being absorbed in the body via carboxyhemoglobin(not getting enough oxygen). As I said I eat plenty and drink plenty before, I make damn sure I do. I've researched it and I have all the symptoms that are associated with "mild" acute poisoning, but I want to make sure it's not something, because I don't want to give up the hookah!
