same thing happened to me with a package from usps. our mail lady is a pos and was too lazy to walk up to the door so she put one of those slips telling you that its at the post office. It didn't need a signature.

You've got one of those too? I swear my postal carrier is so lazy if there's a car in the driveway, she claims she can't get past it to deliver the mail. And I've been walked down the stairs, two feet away from her lazy self and watched her put the orange "come to the post office" into my mailbox already made out instead of even taking the package out of the truck. I've complained several times but they couldn't care less.

Yeah ever since they changed drivers we have been dealing with this crap. She delivers everyone elses mail that lives around us to us because she can't read numbers.

Is there any way you can take legal action against them or at least threaten to if they don't correct what she is doing?

You can complain nationally on the website or call a toll free number. That will work for a while until they slip back into their old ways after the heats off. Complaining to the national headquarters puts the supervisor's backside on the line so they yell at the carrier for a minute. Then of course after time it all wears off and you're back not getting your mail again.

When I lived in Spokane, I was not used to getting 5 feet of snow... so it never even occured to me to shovel the sidewalk and area around our mailbox (apparently it didn't to the other 19 people sharing the box too), the mailman left a note indicating we needed to do this, someone wrote a nasty reply on it apparently (was not me!) and so he just didn't deliver any mail to our street for two solid weeks. I was pissed.

In my past experiences i have found that UPS works best for me. The UPS driver where i lived was always really good about making sure our packages were taken care of he would stop at your house and if he didnt catch you the first try he would try again before he left the neighborhood. On the other hand though i cant even cound how many times i had to drive 30 minutes to pick up a package because the driver said nonoe was home when they attempted the delivery. That does bug me.

Now being in Germany and having to get my mail through apo mail... I hate that it takes forever to get mail and their hours are so messed up. I can never get my packages when i want to get them specially with my work since i come in to work before they are open and leave after they close. Its really frustrating sometimes

FED EX uses that no one was there excuse to cover up the fact that there behind. I usually never order from any place that uses them. I like UPS never had a problem and the driver in my area all ways leaves the package in my screen porch and always shuts and latches the gate for my fence when he leaves. And for DHL well their the worst if you ask me. I live in a small rural area just 4 miles out of town. Technically its a village with its own zip code but I always use the towns zip because i have no clue what it is and all my mail i get has the towns zip on it and not the villages. Any way DHL can never find my house, I all ways get a call from them saying they check there gps and google maps and my address does not exist. All the other companies never have a problem finding my house.

I stayed home all day yesterday to wait for a package from UPS - only to miss it. I was literally sitting in the doorway smoking Al-Fakher, waiting for the knock. At one point someone walks up the stairwell, then walks back down. I open the door to find one of those notes saying I wasn't there. He had checked off "Third and Final Attempt". So when I call UPS to schedule a pick up, they tell me they already shipped it back to the sender. Oh, and it was the first attempt.

Now I have to pay more to have my packages sent back to me when they were literally at my door yesterday. I hate UPS.

Yea, Ive always had them end up dropping the package off at the apartment complex's front office. That and USPS's tracking SUCKS!!! I ordered something from John on saturday and on USPS's it said "billing information recieved" all the way untill wednesday to which they changed the message to "pacakge has been delivered".

USPS's tracking has never been good. Looks like opinions of practically every company isnt based on the company itself. It's based on how much the driver inconvenienced you. And it looks like it's so subjective that you cant actually choose a company to ship through based on all these horrible reviews. Nearly all are based on driver performance. That's why I keep saying CALL 1800-GO-FEDEX and file a report. Then at the very least these drivers get a talking to. Nearly every time I've had things delivered through FedEx recently they've dropped a door tag to prove the package was delivered. It's signed by the driver and has a time stamp on it with the package ID. At least that's what Ground does. Express and Freight, I'm not sure. They are pretty much separate entities within the company.
