web250
Hey everyone, well once I get consent to buy a hookah (should be within the week if I'm lucky) I plan on purchasing one from social smoke (using our 15% discount, of course). Some questions:1. Buy one of their custom social smoke brand hookahs, or one of their regular egyptians? It's about a $20 difference, but the social smoke brand comes with a case, an extra 50g havana, and more mouth pieces. I'm looking to get a 28"2. For 3 Kings, how many pieces are in a roll, and how many rolls per 50g/250g?
Smashraj84
10 pieces in a roll if I'm not mistaken. I usually use 3 halves of the 33mm for a bowl.
web250
How many bowls do you usually get out a 50g?
mushrat
I get about 3, 4 tops out of a 50g. As for the hookah. If the $20 isn't an object..get what you want to have around. What do you want to look at when you sit and smoke? Its getting down to personal preference time....
steve07
It depends on the size of my bowl but usally 4-
cymptom
I've been wondering about those Social Smoke hookahs... it says they come with a "Clay and Stainless Steel" bowl. Does this mean that you choose between clay and stainless steel? Or is it one of those clay bowls coated in stainless steel? If its the latter, can anyone comment on how well they smoke? As for the coals, it's probably best not to worry about calculating exactly how much you need and buying individual rolls -- buying a whole box will likely save you time and money in the long-run. I assume its clay coated in steel. As long as it smokes the same, then w/e, it'll match the rest of the hookah, but if it doesnt, id prefer all clay...I'm sure if you asked for all clay in the commetns box they would do it for you. kilgore trout
When I got my SS Aurora hookah, it came with both a clay bowl and a steel bowl.

kilgore trout
My SS Aurora smokes like a champ. I saw that it was still on sale too, making it quite a deal for such a large hookah, if that's what you are looking for. They also have great customer service. I'd definately recommend it. mushrat
The steel bowl is that..solid steel. Most people have said they get way too hot for a good smoke...
web250
Hmmm, thanks for that info mushrat.I guess what the description on their site means is, like kilgore said, that they ship it with 2 bowls, one stainless steel to match the look, and one clay for the traditional smoke. DizzyGuy
The steel bowl is great for over packed shisha or stuff that needs a little extra heat. It was an ok experience using the steel bowl, although I don't like how the bowls are shallow/wide/have big big holes.
kilgore trout
I agree with Dizzy. I found the clay bowl to be a bit too shallow for my tastes, but the steel one worked pretty well for me.
DownZero
I have the SS Aurora hookah myself and wooo does it smoke. I highly recommend it.. or any of the like. I'm sure they are all awesome smokers. Yes, it comes with the steel and clay bowl. Good deal. As far as the coals... I use about two 3king coals for a fully packed bowl. I would recommend buying some extra coals and shisha while your at it.. to save from spending on shipping on future shisha/coal purchases .. unless of course there is a supplier in your town, then no worries. So along with the 3 packs of Havana it comes with, I'm buying some Layalina, as well as an Al-Waha (only because they are discontinuing it, and it's really cheap)
Social Smoke
As you guys know any bowl usually takes a slightly different setup to smoke properly. As mushrat mentioned a metal bowl burns hotter than a clay or ceramic bowl so coal technique and tobacco amount make a huge difference in the quality of smoke. In my experience stainless steel bows are good for shorter smoking sessions with shisha tobacco (30-45 minutes per head) or dryer tobaccos ( Ajami/Tombac ) when the coal is placed directly on the tobacco. To get it to work with shisha tobacco I have had success using very little tobacco to layer the bottom of the bowl and only 1/2 piece of three kings charcoal. If you can master this and like changing flavors or smoking for shorter sessions you will save a lot of charcoal and tobacco since you need so little in the bowl. If not, then you still have a real pretty and clean bowl to stick on top of your hookah when not in use.
