Nakhla Zaghoul

Recommended Posts

I recently got a small pack of Nakhla Zag and have no idea how to smoke it. I tried it yesterday in a normal egyptian with one QL and foil, the smoke was thin although i could taste the baccy flavour quite well. I have a few questions!

1. Does it have the same nicotine and tobacco as the flavoured Nakhla shisha?
2. Do i smoke this shizz with foil or without?
3. If i mix it with some flavoured nakhla can i get rid of the taste but still keep the buzz?
4. Can i get good smoke with this or is it more about buzz with Zag?

Thanks!

1 and 2 I'm not sure about... wait until the Zag smokers chime in.
3. Yes, that's what a lot of Zag smokers do, mix it in with a flavored Nak so that way they have flavor and the Zag buzz.
4. Yes, you should be able to get as big of clouds as with regular Nak.

I guess your right. But couldnt it be said that this has the same amount as ciggeretes then?

However, i guess that the taste is only light compared to that of a ciggerete and plus your not inhaling it into your lungs after a pull(well i dont), apart from the little amount that gets there

nakhla zag eh? from what i know and the times i have tried it, maybe twice and once if AF soft black, no foil, you put coals directly on the tobacco, not too much. you are not trying to get huge clouds with this stuff, you need to smoke very slowly and enjoy the flavor. i hear its good as a mixer but it's not my cup of tea. it will grow hair on your chest. but relax when using this, it's all about the flavor and you will most likely get buzzed.

1) It packs more nicotine than og nakhla, quite close to tangiers if you ask me.
2) I smoke with foil, mix it with flavored nak.
3) Yes for the most part, some flavors like guava, peach, and a couple others zag will come into the flavor more, than for flavors like cherry and cinnamon, and chocomint, etc.
4)You can add just enough glycerin to it to get it shiny if you'd like. Then let it sit for a day or two to soak in, and then smoke it, i get great results doing this. But don't go nuts with the glyc, add just enough so the entire tub is shiny.

I add glyc so it's shiny, and mix 20g of zag with 20g of whatever og/mizo flavor i want and it is BLISS! Good buzz, awesome smoke, and yes it is much stronger it terms of flavor and buzz, it's actually quite perfect to me.

If i mix it with something like guava, a flavor that has tons of flavor, but it is a type of flavor that is light, if that makes sense, i usually do 15g of zag and then 25g of mizo. (My small holds 40g's)

Goodluck!

i love zaghloul. zag, cardamom, and mint is a good mix.

if im smoking just straight zag i go no foil. but if its in my mix, i out foil on.

you still get a definite taste if its in the bowl but its not nearly ass trong depending on what you mix it with.

i still get some good clouds with zag. gives me a little more 'buzz' than others

1. More nicotine.
2. people here will tell you without foil, but that's a fail. Smoke it with foil, no reason to get a bad experience from it.
3. No, your nakhla will be fruit and dark tobacco flavor, maybe you will like it but it's most likely not great. If you don't like the taste of tobacco but want to smoke to get a buzz, there's no reason you should be smoking tobacco. ;)
4. It's about flavor. Not buzz or "clouds". Flavor. Flavor flavor flavor. Don't smoke like an American, remember that, it will save your life one day. Flavor.

Flavor.

IF you want to smoke it there are 3 ways

1. no foil, pack it a little more than reg shisha and smoke slow.
2. mix with super wet shisha, mix it up, let it sit for a day. best to mix a couple times. the wetter ths shisha, the better. you want a good amount of juice so it smokes at a reasonable tate. the best things to mix it with are Nakhla mizo and tangiers imo.
3. add some vegtable glycerin and honey/molases. this will make it smoke like regular shisha

Ive smoked it a few times, the way to smoke zaghloul is by packing it in the bowl, then place 1 or 2 coals directly on the tobacco, no foil.

The taste is very similar to a Cigar, the smoke is not suppose to be thin its actually just as thick as regular hookah smoke, sometimes thicker in my experience.

I have never added anything when smoking zaghloul because there would be no point to that. If you want to smoke regular tobacco then buy regular tobacco.

I have some zag and I want to try it mixed with Mizo Guava or Grape. If I smoke it alone, do I use foil or not? Do I wet it or just smoke it as is?

1. I've heard it has more nicotine but I don't get any more buzzed smoking Zag than I do from OG NK. The trick is, it needs to burn really hot. You actually get more of a buzz this way than if you just let it smolder like shisha.

2. It is traditionally smoked without foil. After making sure it's all lose and not sticking together, pack it up until it's just over the top of the bowl. Then place three of your hottest coals right next to each other on one side of the bowl. Work your way around the bowl everytime you flip them. The bowl should cache in about 20-30 min of heavy smoking.

3. I've never tried this. If I want to smoke something with flavor (other than tobacco), I smoke something with flavor.

4. In order to get good smoke on Zag you have to have lungs of steel. With three CH coals, I get rather wispy clouds. Throw four on there, and you'll get smoke like you're used to seeing. That and a sore throat. If you want bigger clouds, go with AF Soft Black - it's jucier.

I appreciate Zag because of it's culture and simplicity. There are no gimmicks, no fancy marketing, and no candy coating. Almost all that I know about Zag has been taught to me by various middle-easterners that come into my lounge. And while I don't think they know everything about hookahs, I respect that they've grown up in that culture and have been around this stuff a lot longer than me. We smoke Zag for Zag. It is more like a cigar than anything else. It's not meant to be smoked with the vigor of typical shisha. It's a much slower ritual.

IMO, you should try to smoke it how it was meant to be smoked before you start doing anything crazy.

Oh, and make sure you use a hookah/hose/bowl combo you don't ever plan on using for anything else.
