mix_tape
I'm in a bit of a pickle. Its -28 outside, my windows are iced shut but I really want to smoke my hookah. The problem is I can only smoke in my room and that means lighting my coals in my room as well. Normally I have the window open along with a fan to have with ventilation. My room isn't very big, do you think its to much of a risk to smoke without proper ventilation?
indian_villager
I do every once in a while but my room is of larger size.....Id say light the coals outside at least.
rhineholt
-28? Jeez... Personally, I wouldn't. I'd only smoke if i had some ventilation. If you could manage to get the windows open, go for it.
NIGHTS OF BAGHDAD
turn on the fan real quick when lightning the coals to dissipate the smell from the coals then shut it off and your good to go..
Pretender85
Never had a problem smoking in my room with the window and door shut..sucks about the coals though. If they are nats you should probably be fine though
tranoid no ki
I've had no problems lighting coals in my room, even with my windows closed (which is what is going on now that it's friggin cold!) I just got naturals, and they made my smoke detector go off, but I managed to stop it. Even with QLs (depends on your brand if you use em, I used 3k) if they have a real bad odor, try to get a window open or something, if not, just tough it out. Ever since I moved to naturals I don't like the taste of 3Kings, I'll have to get some CH quick lights and see if those work.

-Bones-
I used to smoke back in the day at my parents house it was an old farm house and my room was about 10 by 12 with low angled ceilings and we had co2/ smoke detectors and it never set it off for co2 smoke once or twice in the winter but never co2, Ill put it this way burning a couple pieces of charcoal makes less co2 than all the electricity expended on this thread
dizzbizz
I smoke in a tent sometimes and its 6' by 9'. However I don't light my coals in it. But I haven't had any problems with it not being ventilated. Bones- CO2 is carbon dioxide. CO is carbon monoxide. Just to clarify. nars2k
I smoke in my room all the time, the thing is I light my coals in the bathroom so my room doesnt smell. I leave the windows open so the smoke goes out but then again its only 50 degrees here.
antouwan
i didn't know risky was a verb you need some real jap coals. you can light them with a lighter and/or candle and they're good for situations like yours. the silver shit may make a mess though. DON'T LIGHT THE CH QLS INSIDE AS YOU MIGHT DIE. . . .but seriously, CH naturals will make your room reek for days.
mix_tape
I'm not good at topic titles haha. I'm liking the suggestions I defiantly would lite the QL outside and bring them in.
duckah
How small is your room? I always light QLs in the same room I'm smoking in, with the exception of Starlights I never notice too much of a smell.
blagage
I smoke in my room all the time but CH QL's are no good for lighting in the room. I have lit them over a stove with a nice fan to suck out the smoke and part of the smell. That seems to work fine when one can not go outside to light them. Otherwise i say why not try it inside. wost that can happen is you die because something caught fire and it spread.
