Hookah-Shisha Order

Recommended Posts

Hey fellow hookah smokers,

I am seriously considering making me first major online hookah related purchase soon.
I have chosen to go with H-S because of the free Mini Mya Acrylic that comes with orders of at least $100
I have a few things I would like to get some advice on from you all.

Firstly, I am thinking of ordering a new hookah. I am currently using a Mya Econo Gelato. I bought this hookah because I wanted a small Mya and it was the only genuine Mya I could find locally. Now that I am making an online order, I am thinking of upgrading to a Mya Bambino. I was torn between that and the QT but from what I have read in this forum, they smoke about the same and I love the looks of the Bambino over the Mya. The fact that it is smaller is also a plus. Some reasons people have given for buying a QT I have found are that it can be converted to a 2 hose and some perceive the Bambino as looking less stable. I am not concerned with the 2 hose issue as I am planning on using the free Acrylic for that and to be honest, stability isn't an issue for me. To be honest, the Bambino doesn't really looks all that less stable to me anyways. Any other reasons why one might choose a QT over a Bambino or vice versa?

Secondly, I plan on paying the $5 to get the free Mini Mya Acrylic upgraded to a 2 hose. I have read posts about how good the hookah is but I haven't found anything specifically on using it as a 2 hose. Has anyone else tried this?

Thirdly, I would like to order some more tobacco, preferably Tangiers and maybe some Nakhla. Unfortunately, a lot of the Tangiers flavors I wanted to try are sold out such as Cocoa, Guava, Orange Soda, and Watermelon. I have already tried Apple, Lemon, Horchata, and ILTOBC which I got locally so I would like to try some others. Melon Blend looks good so I think I will try some of that. As for Nakhla, I have tried Double Apple, Orange, and Margarita. Are there any other Tangiers flavors that H-S has in stock that would be good to try? Any Nakhla flavors I should throw in as well?

I am also planning on ordering a small Nammor with one of those fancy velvet covers.

I would love to hear any other comments, suggestions, or concerns you may have.

Im not a fan of any double hose hookah but its your hookah.

As for tobacco you can try other vendors like hookahjohn who should have the flavors that you want. Nakhla is in my opinion one of the best flavors, you should try some flavors from their Mizo line such as watermelon. You should really try some flavors from Al Amirs Premium line also. They are great flavors, have a wide variety and are also pretty cheap. Their peach is a must try, best peach I have smoked from any line hands down.

The Nammors aren't bad but people have problems with their durability, I would just spend a couple dollars more and get a Khalil Mamoon pro hose unless you need it to be washable.

I was planning on using the 2 hose as a travel hookah that I can keep in my car and use when I hang out with my friends or go out of town. I haven't smoked very many 2 hose hookahs but it is free plus only $5 for the upgrade so if it sucks, I am not at much of a loss and can probably convert it to a 1 hose if I feel like.

I would like to order from HJ in the future, but I would like to order from H-S for my first order just so I can get the free hookah. I will get whatever I can now from H-S and then order from HJ in the future for the better selections. I will look into trying Al Amirs but as for this order I might just stick with Tangiers and Nakhla as I don't want to spend too much and I really want to try some more of those. Maybe I can get some locally, or if not, I will order some in the future.

I have read some of the complaints about the Nammor's durability but I seem to see far more good things than bad things so I have decided to go ahead and try it. I also really like the way they look which isn't really important but it also kinda makes it that much more appealing. Whether or not it is washable isn't that important to me but I do see it as an added bonus. I don't really experience much ghosting out of my non-washable Mya hose but I do like the idea of being able to rinse it out to keep it clean.

Thank you for your input.

Go Bambino if you think it looks better. It also has a smooth heart which makes cleaning easier, and ghosting less likely to happen. I have used the two hose and its a little restrictive, I would also get a non auto seal when you smoke by yourself

Tangiers: K-Cherry, Peach Iced Tea, Mimon, Static Starlight

Nakhla: Sweet Melon, Guava

The reason people go with the QT is because the base is alot more heavier then the Bambino base meaning that it is alot more stable and people could use there hoses with it that would knock over the smaller Mya's like the Bambino because the hoses wiegh more then the hookah sense thats why they get the QT because its heavier then the seperate hoses like the Nammor and Narbish. But if your sticking with a normal hose then go with the Bambino. As for the 2 hose thing I have one of the mini acrylics and I wouldn't personally make it into a 2 hose because its not gonna be autoseal. Hope this helped.

I don't plan on using it by myself very much but I will keep your advice in mind. If I find it intolerably restrictive than I will order a non-auto-seal in the future.

I started calculating my order and with the Bambino, Nammor, and hose cover, the order comes out to $83.85.
Instead of getting the 3 pack, I think I might just do a single flavor of Tangiers and a single flavor of Nakhla which would bring me over $100 and I can save some money to order stuff from HJ since his selection is better.

For Tangiers I will get Melon Blend since I already wanted to try that.
For Nakhla, I think I will try the Guava.
I have never had a Guava before but I got some Guava juice the other day and I loved it.
Would you reccommend regular Nakhla or Mizo?
I know Mizo is supposedly juicier and it sounds better, but I thought I would ask anyways.

I just realized the Bambino comes with 2 packs of 50g Romman.
For one of them I will try Cappuccino.
I think for the second pack I will go with Rose just out of curiousity.
I have no idea what Rose is supposed to taste like...
Has anyone else tried these and like them?

Stuie uses a washable on his bambino without a problem. I actually have one but got a QT vase with it.

The only Mizo flavour I have tried is Peach, but it's phenomenal. Other good Nakhla flavours are Chocomint, Mint, and Mandarin.

As far as Romman goes, I'd pick up some Ivory Coast, but only if you like sour flavours. It's really tart, but it's one of the best shishas I've smoked. Rose isn't really my thing, it's very sweet and to me the sweetness overwhelms the floral parts of the flavour.

Alright, I will try the Ivory Coast.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I just submitted my order, hopefully it will be here before I go out of town on the 22nd.

Romman 50g #2:: ivory coast (pineapple/grapefruit)

Nakhla 250g (Box) $9.95
Customizations:
Nakhla 250g:: mizo guava - NEW!

Stuie,
I decided to go with the Bambino over the QT.
Looks on a hookah aren't that important to me but I like the looks of the Bambino much more than the QT and I can't think of any real reason not to go for it.
Romman Good Times did look interesting but I am not a big fan of mint.
Perhaps I will try it another time as it doesn't sound too bad.
I don't mind a little bit of mint to sort of accent another flavor and give it that cooling effect.
I also skipped on the AF Mint for that reason.
Mizo Watermelon sounds good but I really wanted to try Guava.

Thanks for the advise though.

Hey Jon, no worries man it was just a suggestion. didn't realize you didn't like mint. Mizo Guava is a good call from what I hear, I got it in but haven't tried it. I love my Bambinos. I have never tipped one over with even a Nammor attached and a Phunnel on top with a windcover.

Nice order! I love my bambino. The nammor works perfectly fine with the bambino. You just gotta play around with the grommets. I found that the bowl grommet from http://www.hookah-sh...e-grommets.html works absolutely perfect. Im sure anything similar would also work. Also, Ivory Coast is probably my favorite flavor I've ever tried. It tastes incredible and fills the entire room up with orange and pineapple smells (Im pretty sure its orange and pineapple, not grapefruit, but maybe my nose deceives me).

EDIT: the grommit I mentioned works perfect on the Large nammor hose, so it could be different on the small one. Edited by LZ22

It isn't really that I dislike mint, It just isn't very high on the list of flavors that I like.
I used to smoke Menthols so the idea of smoking mint isn't as interesting to me as being able to smoke fruit and whatnot.
Some of the lounges I have been to will put a seemingly small amount of mint with other flavors to supplement it with a slight cooling effect.
I am kind of starting to like it the more I try it but for now I just want to try other things, like Cappuccino in this case.
Some day in the future I would like to buy some Mint tobacco and try experimenting with mixing small amounts of it with other flavors for that background cooling effect.
I can get a lot of AF locally though so I can probably get AF Mint from a shop here where as with Tangiers and Nakhla I don't seem to find a wide variety of flavors in the shops and there are a lot that I want to try but can't find.

Also, possibly try out the mizo white grape in the future?! I just ordered myself some from H-J.

I was going to order from H-S as I have ordered from John before and wanted to try a different vendor and also gain some points :P but unfortunately, I fell in the same boat as you as I wanted the flavours such as Cocoa and orange soda but H-S didnt have it in stock!

I've heard really good things about the melon blend too :) its also on my order which should be coming in the next few days!

Let us know how the new hookah goes for ya :) good luck bud!

My order arrived today, one day ahead of schedule.

I do have a few issues though.

The first thing I did when I unpacked each hookah was to test for leaks by blocking the stem opening with my hand and inhaling directly through the hose port.
The Mini Mya Acrylic seals perfectly, but unfortunately, the Bambino seems to have a lot of leakage.
I am pretty sure the leak is in the seal between the heart and base.

Also, the Mini Mya Acrylic which I had paid to have upgraded to the 2 hose only came with 1 auto-seal.
For now I am going to just use the non-auto-seal port myself and just hold my thumb over the hose.

I also had some of the color from the velvet cover rub off onto the white stripe of the fabric part of my Nammor.
It isn't bad but you can see how it looks a little purple in the picture.

The good news is that I contacted H-S customer support through their live-chat feature and the CSR said she would send me out a new base seal and auto-seal hose port for free.
She also said I can fix the seal for now by putting tape under it around the base and wash the color out of the hose with some warm water and a little bit of liquid laundry detergent.

I also got a free screen, free plastic mouth pieces, and free quick light coals.
I will probably use none of them, but it was nice of them to hook me up with goodies :P Edited by Jondd88

Noticed ya got some OG tangiers as well! Mellon blend is a great flavor.

Do ya know about Tangiers? How to acclimate it, how to pack it? Just asking.

Congrats on your order tho! My Mya is my everyday smoker. Love it!

Ya, I have some Noir Lemon as well as some F-Line Apple which I believe is also unwashed.
I also have Lucid ILTOBC and had some Lucid Horchata before I smoked it all.

Unfortunately, after further inspection, I found that the leak isn't in the base seal but is in fact coming from the hole drilled in the shaft for the downstem.
The hole is a bit lopsided, almost egg shaped, and it is allowing air to pass through.
I contacted H-S customer support through their live-chat again and the CSR told me she would send me a new shaft and a return label for the old one.
I was really hoping to get to try out my new Bambino tonight, but I am going to have to wait till I get my new shaft which probably won't happen before I go out of town until January.
