Noob Question

Recommended Posts

Well my new KM needs a new washing(from what I can tell).

Are there any specifics I should follow to clean the stem? I was just going to use dawn(?) and my large test tube brush...

If anyone has better ways of cleaning it by all means post.

Thanks

There are many threads on it if you do a topic. Regular cleaning means you need less serious cleaning... if you have smoked it for a few years and not cleaned it... it would probably need a little more treatment.

I basically run the brush and dish soap through the stem every few months, varying heavily (based more on storage (IE DUST and such) than on smoking activity).

I would not listen to that advice. Heres the thing the cleaner ypur hookah the better the smoke is going to taste. Soap and a brush works fine, also pour some soap in the vase and fill it with water. Peer down the stem it should be smooth, if it looks rough it needs more cleaning.

Yeah because I was informed you should clean it after 3-5 bowls. I just didn't know if KM's had any special method.

Hmm..I know some people might be lazy but I tend to just clean my hookah straight after a session of smoking!

I blow hard through the hose first.

Wash the vase with filling it up with water 3/4 times and shaking it about.

Run hot water through the stem and then use the brush once followed by running water through it again.

then with my hookah cloth, I tend to shine the stem up and clean the vase from outside.

Hang the pipe up.

and thats it really :)

Its best to give your hookah a regular clean rather than leaving it for a very long time! It will definitely affect your sessions in a positive way.

My fav way of cleaning my hookah is using dish washer powered detergent like sun or cascade they also have the lemon scented one too for you baking soda and lemon guys. Just clean it how u would use a stem brush and scrub away The best part of using this is u can polish ur fine hookah to a mirror shine after by using a soft dry wash cloth the resaults will turn out squeeky clean oo this is also really great for your nasty crused ass....Vase too
