rhineholt
Mush man, pardon my french, that fucking blows. There's gotta be somewhere around that... They are discriminating and I think if you get a good attorney, you can fight it. Also, whats that about promoting younger people to use tobacco? How would that even work? You card... Nobody under 18 is allowed in. That's stupid. I hope everything works out mush. I was making it one of my goals to come out to visit you at your lounge. Pretender85
That's ridiculous..I love how Kinniard tries to seperate himself from the whole thing at the bottom of the report there. I hope u guys can pool together an attorney, that has to be illegal to give exemptions to other tobacco places, yet not the hookah bars. It is definitely discriminatory against private businesses. They should either disallow them all or exempt them all. Preferably the latter of course.

[/quote] Hallelujah..... Here's my reasoning...... At local and even state levels, those in power tend to see themselves as the big fish in a relatively small pond. They think no big deal, a few small business owners, not much of a tempest they can make. But what the pond is suddenly the focus of an ocean? If people across the country say "Hey, this isn't right and it's not local anymore. We, all over the country are watching how you treat your constituents in your own state and we don't like it." there may be a chance that they won't be quite so laisez faire about destroying someones livelihood. "Oh, I agreed to do a fellow legislator a favor," may turn into "I'm getting heat from all over the country and they're claiming cultural discrimination because of my favor...." I think one of the problems we have in this country is We The People are not loud enough. Town meetings be damned. Start emailing your State and US congresspersons and senators on a monthly basis about what they've done for you in the past 30 days. And let's do it over and over and over until they take heed. It's the only way these "people" are going to wake up and take service to the people seriously. 'Rani

Bulldog_916
The ban you have put in place is discriminatory. It discriminates against a man in Adam Bliss who has worked his life away to continue a dream he has had, to own a small business and to be successful at it. It discriminates against the patrons that frequent the bar who consider it a respite from the hectic, stressful life they lead. It discriminates against a tradition in shisha smoking that has spanned hundreds of years. The fact that you would choose to make it MORE difficult to run a small business in this economy shows how little you really know about your citizenry and the economy. I thought 90% of this country's economy came on the backs of small businesses. And now you choose to, instead of opening your arms to them, turn them away? And when asked how he will make his living, you tell him you're sorry. I am sorry. Sorry you dont get the real picture. Sorry you dont get how to really help the economy. And sorry you dont understand the activity you have seeked to destroy. Thanks for the help, (My name here), Sacramento, CA That above is what I sent to the good senator. It may be a bit strong, but I didnt curse and I didnt get out of line I dont believe.

I am not trying to be a grammar police here by any means, just noting since it was sent to a public official rather than just an argument on the boards here. Regardless though, i think you did a good job getting your point across without being insulting, one thing i might suggest next time is attaching where you got your information about the 90%, explane your relationship to Adam Bliss, explain why it is discriminatory, and maybe send an attachment or a link to a website that explains hookah. You want it to be short, simple, and to the point or else the jerk won't take the time to read it, but you also want enough in there to make sure you adequitly get your point across. Thanks for posting your email though, its inspiring.
