So apparently this guy put a short film he made up on youtube and a few days later his email was flooded with offers from Hollywood to purchase the rights.  I think it is a really cool little clip, but 30 million for four minutes?

Here's the story: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/buzzlog-uruguay-to-hollywood.html

What do you guys think? Makes me want to make a crazy ass 4 minute video of shit blowing up and rake in 30 mil, cha ching!

Very true.  I wonder if he got any e-mails from Hollywood pissed that he used that music, lol.

I'm happy for him.

I don't have the eye of those Hollywood big shots. I am sure a lot of people saw a lot of potential from this clip, hence the full inbox from Hollywood.

They pay the guy $30 mil now, they will make $300 tomorrow. These guys are too smart.

Well, since im at work i cant watch this video. But, this is the business im learning all about. THis sort of thing happens more than people think. Its not typically for a 4 minute video, but more like an hour worth of script. But im glad the guy got it. The true test is did this guy put all of his vision and heart into a single idea, or does he have bigger and better things left? As for the music. People in hollywood steal other people's crap all the time. Esp music. I dont see why they would complain about it.

I watched it all and it was ok. Looked well done for $300, but like others have said to similar to War of the Worlds, Cloverfield for me. That music is awesome because it was in 28 Days Later, but using it in anything else doesn't work IMO.
