My Coal Is Sliding Around The Foil.....

while I'm pulling, my coal sort of rattles around the foil. I've got an Egyptian bowl, 25-30 holes. Packed the bowl pretty well - just to the top, not above. Anyone ever experience this?

make sure your bowl is straight and your hookah is flat on the ground and stable. If that doesnt work try a diffuser, it will make the bubbles smaller and less likely to cause vibration in the stem.

thanks for the tips. As far as the diffuser - if I don't have one now, could the stem be going to far down in the water or possibly not far enough?

the stem should be roughly 1" in the water. a good home made diffuser that I use sometimes is just a piece of onion/garlic bag. rinse it out and rubber band it to the bottom. easy and free. what kind of coals are you using?

three kings quick light. The hookah base is not even - that probably is the problem. Its tilted a bit, and i've tried to shift the way the bowl sits but its hard to pinpoint exact level

If your hookah's rattling, you need to stabilize your base. Use some paper or something to slide under the base where it's uneven to make it even with the ground. Should solve your rattling problem, therefore solving your coals-moving problem.

EDIT: You just posted that your base is not even, so there you go.... Even out that base, problem solved.

this happens to me a lot just eevery once and awhile push the coals around with your tongs

I would just like to mention that you shouldn't use quicklights and switch to natural coals + buy a coil burner

Yea the coals like to dance to the beat of the rumble.

but really, can you blame them?

im yet to find a soulution to combat this, but if you take slower hits it will most likley combat it. dont quate me though im yet to try it. i just re asign thier possition more frequently.
