xriotx13x
Gosh some of those stories sound bad. My friends and I went to a new lounge once, pictures looked good, looked cleaner and nicer than the one we had previously gone to. Mind you, we are 18 year old group of girls walking in, while we walk in a bunch of men out side (owners and friends) are going "hey ladies, come spend the night with us." Blah blah blah The kinda stuff you ignore. When we get in we go to order a hookah and the one guy maybe our age is winking at us calling us Babe baby all this jazz and is trowing shisha in our faces to smell. Not so terrible, and he gave us a discount though. We get settled waiting on our hookah, the men from outside just come sit at a table next to our booth trow all the lights on and start playing card, I personals feel if you're the owner etc the guest come first. So we move a both over to get some dim lit ambiance, we get out hookah, damn things not working, air leak. And soaking wet hoses, coal in the middle. Not to happy. I wasn't going to mess with it since I dont know 100% about a hookahs and asked the guy who brought it to fix it. He fixes it, I move the coals, he walks over and moves it back to the middle. I got annoyed ignored it. Coal died, had to go ask for another, I asked for 2 out of preference and it was a four hose so... Brings one like 15 minuets later after asking twice... We were used to at the other lounge we had went to that they make rounds and check your coals for you and replace them for you. So once all that was out of the way and we had a peaceful smoke for an hour, we left. And upon leaving was hooting an hollering from the workers; "Come again baby" and stupid things. I found it very unprofessional with lack of service.... Also that every lounge I have been to has posted everywhere "WE ID" Haven't been IDed once.... Im 18 im good, but sometimes I feel like there's 12 year olds giggling and kackeling in the booths next to me.
Cp44
I use to go to this hookah bar near where i live. The owner is very polite to me and my friends, he would sit down with us and talk politics and stuff like that. But when a nice looking girl comes in he would just stare at her and go above and beyond to provide the best service. He's atleast 40 and would do this to 18yr olds. I think one time I caught him watching porn there since they have wifi lol.
kyleSD
i work at a hookah bar and we rarely get complaints. I've smoked there many times and only once has it been bad but it was because i chose a crap flavor. our hookah guy is from iraq and knows what hes doing for the most part. ill say in my almost two years working there i have yet to meet someone who really knows about hookah or has their own. definitely not anyone at the level of us on the forums. so from the other side of this thread i'll say i get really annoyed with noobs that break coals or can't even take a proper hit and then complain theres no smoke haha. hope i'm not coming off as bias, where i work is not the best lounge ive been too locally but we do consistently serve good hookahs. we only serve starbuzz though so its kind of a no brainer. price wise lounges here are too expensive. we charge 20$ unfortunately. we used to do 7.50$ hookahs all tuesdays but now its 10$... wack. cloudmaster89
Went to a hookah bar near me today and it made me realize that it sucks knowing more about hookah than the people who work there. As soon as they brought the hookah and i took the first hit i knew something was wrong. It was an obvious air leak so i found the leak and brought it to their attention and they promptly replaced it. The new hookah they brought me had the wrong stem base combination which caused the pull to be very difficult so i said something and they fixed it. One base was overfilled with water so it pulled up into the hose Amount of coals i know is a matter of preference usually but they really didnt get it right ever. I kept asking for more coals or less coals. All in all it was not a BAD experience, once they got the hookah right and let me handle the coals it was a good time but I felt like an ass bringing them over to tell them all these issues with the hookah. Anyone else have this problem? At a hookah bar and know more about it than those who get paid to pack and manage it.
They are just in it for the money. I don't generally go to hookah bars since getting your own hookah and shisha is so much cheaper after the initial purchase of the hookah. They are just in it for the money and they don't take the time to do it right.
Dereksd
yea when i first started smoking i would only go to bars and maybe im just lucky but everyone i have ever been to in san diego has been really awesome. i mean some have shitty atmosphere but never really had a problem with my hookah except for the occasional poorly done fruit bowl at sinbads which they always fixed with no hassle. i go down on fridays sometimes to the one that kylesd works at to hang with him and drink and shoot the shit and the hookah guy there is awesome and knows his shit. i mean i guess im spoiled cause i have tangiers 10 minutes away haha. But yea i feel cheated smoking at hookah lounges cause why pay for one bowl when it usually works out to costing how much a 250 of said shisha would be and i can smoke alone in my dark 1 bedroom apartment and maintain my skin shade lamps and spinal cord coffee table........ ive said too much
