I've gone through the exact same scenerio. I chose to take the online class and it was waaay more expensive than the ticket. The 4 hour class was very inconvient for me, so I chose the internet class option. All in all, I ended up spending about $219.00 on that bullshit. I kept thinking about how I could have used that money on something else.


Boy did I learn my lesson on that one.

plus LEO's dont use radars, they've upgraded to laser detectors (i have friends that are LEO's, lasers are more accurate and they can pinpoint you at a pretty far distance)... jammers/detectors dont work on lasers...



all the tips/laws you guys are explaining vary state to state. basically take it as a lesson and dont speed...

had a highly fixed up camaro that would always cause me to speed, car just demanded it! so i kept getting tickets left and right, cops would tail me everytime they saw me, blahblahblah... i sold the car and picked up a diesel truck. problem solved. havent got a ticket in years (even though i still speed, they just either dont care or i dunno). then i picked up a crotchrocket for my adrenalin "fix".
im not saying buy a new car but im saying think outside the box to make things work...

also, this might work for you in your state, but here in cali you can appeal the ticket and go to court, LEO shows up and 95% of the time your found guilty no matter what. IF the LEO does not show up though, your free to go, no points no fines... so the solution is to 1. delay the court date as much as possible (can delay it up to a year, just gotta know how to take the right steps) then once you cant delay any longer, you can request the court date to be changed to a different court (preferably one thats far away from the police division that gave you a ticket) so what happens is if the LEO does not have any other cases at that court on that day, he'll probably not show up and your as free as a bird (yes it works) Edited January 7, 2010 by vitza

umm get an attorney? that goes down all day long in the h-town, one trainee attorney will come and represent like 20 people in the court room and 98% chance you get off scot-free. it's $80 (so cheaper than the gvt fine with driving school) and no shitty class! also, insurance doesn't know about it. but maybe that's just here in the city of syrup...
