CrystalxSoul
Ok so im about to make my first big order online and i came across phunnel bowls. now i have read up on phunnel bowls and how they retain juices, and how they last forever and make your smoke much more flavorful, but i also saw that it takes ALOT of shisha to fill a bowl. Now, usually when i smoke hookah with my friends we smoke for a little over an hour. would it be worth it to invest in a phunnel bowl or just stick with a normal one? are there phunnel bowls which are smaller and use less shisha? if so would those be worth investing in? thanks for input everyone :3 Edited January 2, 2010 by CrystalxSoul

If youre talking about phunnel bowl brands, get a tangiers phunnel bowl from Hookahjohn.com
Jacob Shock
Phunnel bows are good, but i still perfer the standard egyption. as for filling the phunnels, yea they are to big. its not that i dont want to smoke for 3 hours, i just dont want to smoke the same fucking flavor for 3 hours. it gets boring fast. i have perfected the art of tangiers in the egyption head as well. i honestly have not used a phunnel in over a month. Arcane
if you were to only get one and are really concerned about wasting tobacco AND you don't smoke Tangiers tobacco...then stick with the egyptian bowls... if you don't mind wasting 25g of tobacco or more per session OR you smoke Tangiers tobacco, i think it's worth it to invest in a phunnel. fillup
Phunnel bowls are really amazing. Like others said if you get the small one you wont really be using much more than you would with an egyption. Also I find it smokes a lot better because of the design of it, no matter what shisha you use.
this is good advice here. I can just about get any shisha to smoke relatively well out of a tangiers phunnel, but an egyptian costs way less than a phunnel. I will tell you that the two shishas i normally smoke are either layalina or tangiers and i use a phunnel bowl every time, there are ways to conserve the shisha in a phunnel bowl. Plus, the main thing i like about phunnels is they keep the downstem on the hookah a lot cleaner as well as the water in the vase, ie the juices don't drip down. if you do get a phunnel, i would highly suggest getting a tangiers and NOT an off brand. Tangiers phunnels are known for retaining heat really well, plus it will support the maker of the bowl.

CrystalxSoul
yeah and i heard the flavors of the shisha are so much nicer. now it all depends, do you think this will fit my Mya Bambino? http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-2299-phunnel-hookah-bowls.html
Yes, a small Tangiers phunnel will fit the Bambino. I use one on my QT. And no, you can't just put less shisha in the bowl and it still be the same. It just doesn't work that way. Use the tealight mod I was telling you about in Chat and you'll be set.
twinturboa51
it is def worth getting a phunnel for sb and other wet shishas. the bowl will retain the juice and the fklavors will last much longer. i agree that a small phunnel along with the tealight will save on shisha. anothr option is the vortex bowl. since you dont smoke tangiers you might look into a vortex. it uses maybe a little less tobbacco than the phunnel but it saves juice just the same. dizzbizz
I have a vortex bowl and a small phunnel. The pull on a vortex is harder than the phunnel. I still like it though
Riktar
went from a egyptian to a phunnel not too long along.. NEVER will i go with an Egyptian again. I smoke mainly starbuzz, cuz most of the nakhla is old and dry around here,. and it saves me a TON!. went from 3-4 loads per can to well over 8 with a small phunnel with 2 hoses lasts over 2hrs.. taxx
When you fill the phunnel bowl and smoke it sure it lasts for a long time but this is what i do. I smoke it for about 1-1.5 hours, take the coals off and finish it off the next day or later on that same day. The tobacco tastes the same and you don't waste much. Stuie
First, All the bowls mentioned will fit on a Bambino. I break it down how I see it. Phunnel - For Long Sessions and Tangiers. Egyptian - For any shisha not soaking in juices. Romman, Nakhla Vortex - For Strong Flavor, Quick session but lots of tobacco loss. Now I will expand a little on those summations. I typically use a phunnel of some sort always, Tangiers Small Phunnel, MNH Mini Phunnel, Scalli's Olivewood Bowl. Even if I don't cache all the tobacco and and scrape off the cached and add some new stuff and I am good to go. Egyptian you can smoke anything in it really, but the brands you mentioned. You pretty much have to clean after every flavor because the juices will flavor the water. Vortex I like it for quick smokes, but honestly I think it wastes more shisha than the phunnel. Because it's more conic shape, even the uncached tobacco is slightly cooked and useless if you try to repack. Final Summation: Based on your smoking habits, Get a good Egyptian (not an unglazed Mya Bowl), But look at getting a phunnel in your next few orders. My Personal Recommendation: Hemi Bowl http://www.socialsmoke.com/item--Hemi-Clay-Hookah-Bowl--BOWLS00011.html This is my favorite all around, "works with anything" Egyptian Bowl
