You knock over your hookah and coals get on the floor? I thought I cleaned up the mess all the way, but nope. I just found out that a coal had burned all the way down to ash and put a nice big mark on my restored mahogany stained fir floor. It burned the polyurethane and all, leaving a divot just below the couch. I literally just did this.........funny you should say that.
And its weird because it does not happen very often (seeing as i am very conscious about my surroundings).

Also the fact that you cant put teh coals back on because they have that burnt ass smell to them makes everything worse.

Sorry to hear about the floor btw.....sounds like its time for a new rug.

I've put a lot of hard work into that floor. It was sanded, finished and polyurethaned all by hand, meaning I didn't pay somebody to do it. ....[img]http://www.hookahforum.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dash2.gif[/img] FUCK!!!!


Anyway, I should have been a lot more careful with the hookah...but still. At least its in an inconspicuous spot. Nobody will see it unless they fell in between the coffee table and the couch with their face on the floor.

I didn't have hookah in mind when I bought the house and made restoration plans. Looks like I'm going to have to see about finding some flame retardant carpet to go between the coffee table and couch.



I still can't believe that happened. I'm usually extremely careful with the hookah.

my floor is kind of messed up right now, so i finally started using a carpet floor mat under my hookah and havent had a problem ever since. def a good idea

Agreed man a hookah mat makes tons of sense. Unless you'd rather use a kiddy pool full of water (which would def put out the coals lol)


I've got a $18 rug from walmart that's about 5 x 8 I doubled it over and never smoke without it. Plus I keep a random bottle filled with water near by. I'd rather have to dry up a water stain than replace carpet (on the rare chance it lands on the actual carpet.
With the doubled over cheap carpet though I haven't had a coal burn through, even the ones I might accidentally miss.

I used to put a few towels down incase the coals fell off but I thought it must of been the fact my KM is quite tall and the carpet isnt a very even surface so I bought a cheap table, never put the legs on it and use the top of the table as a hard surface to keep it balanced. Works really well!!

That totally sucks man! We have been looking at doing Hardwood in the living room. If we do I am so not smoking in there.

its even worse on carpet.....in your dorm......where you get raped for fee's when they find it......fml
