great78
Hey I'm kinda new to this whole hookah think and I'm looking to buy a pipe and I don't have that much cash. I see lots of cheap ones for sale that have brass bowls though and all the expensive ones have glass bowls. Is it better to get glass? Is it a big deal? SanguineSolitude
brass is toxic if smoked out of. glass is expensive and fragile. clay bowls are the standard. in general beware cheap hookahs online, youre likely to get a piece of crap that wont smoke well if you dont buy it from a good store. so here are some good ones. hookah-shisha.com, socialsmoke.com, hookahcompany.com the first two especially since you get a 15% discount if you tell them you are a member of hookah forum.im actually not sure if you mean bowl as in where you put the tobacco, which is the correct usage, or the vase. if you mean the vase absolutely get glass. all brass hookahs are generally made for display. I saw a bunch of ones and they were solid brass and I thought hmmm...my friends hookah has a glass base, that way you can see the bubles. Thanks for the sites and the help. zombiedepot
I too went cheap with my first hookah. I think you should consider as large of a budget as you can for your first hookah.I second the HookahCompany recommendation. A friend of mine got a nice setup for under $100, glass base, clay bowl, tongs, coals, shisha and all. Your local smoke shop might have a good deal going on too, you'll have to shop around. Wouldn't hurt to support the local community either. Also consider whether or not you'll be sharing, because my first hookah was replaced pretty quickly after I got it. All because I got annoyed sharing one hose among so many people. I'm not even much of a smoker.
DarthHookah
actually, i got mine at a local middle eastern store for about $25. smokes well enough for me. i dont have a pic of mine on here, but it the exact same as this one right here. if you go to places like that, they might have some. just a matter of looking there- i hate buying off the internet, i like looking before i buy. Lakemonster
From what you are saying in reference to a brass bowl..... I would say you are looking at hookahs from India. I can tell you first hand that those are really ornamental pieces and make poor smokers at best. The hoses are too short and the water chamber is much too small. I would concentrate my searches on hookahs that have glass or acrylic bases...... those are generally made for usage. I would be surprised to if a truly serviceable hookah could be found for under $35.. and then its going to be a little guy.
DownZero
socialsmokehookah.com that was recommended earlier is definetly a good website to order from. I ordered the Aurora hookah that they have for $72. Comes with a steel & clay bowl, three 50g boxes of shisha, cleaning kit, carrying bag, tongs, wind cover, 2 rolls of 3kings QL coals, mouth tips... stainless steel stem & glass base. Can't go wrong with SS... That may be too expensive for you, but they have other smaller and cheaper in price hookahs that may satisfy your taste and wallet. and can't forget the 15% discount when being a member of this forum.. enter hookahforum as the promo code when checking out. Good luck on your hunt!

IF you do business with one of them, you won't regret it...you could do business elsewhere, but why take the chance? Also check out www.hookahkings.comThey are the kind sponsors of this website, they deserve all of the same positive comments I offered about the other companies, plus our appreciation for the HookahForum.
