Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) -- The debate over distracted drivers ramped up a notch on Thursday as Ford Motor Co. announced technology to let computers read their Twitter feeds to them while behind the wheel.

So now I can be on the go and still get news that no one would ever give two shits about read to me. What is this world coming to?

Better get set up with all the hookah twitter feeds!

Am I the only one that just feels wrong about this?

Yep, it's stupid.
But what do I know, I am still in the rubber floor-mats, and painted metal interiors vehicles. High tech for me is a door seal that doesn't leak... much

I guess I am too old to relate to twitter in any way whatsoever. From an era where you tried to keep your life private, and your problems more private... not paste them all over the whole world, in some grand illusion anyone gives a damn.

i still don't fully understand what a twitter is....or who, fuck, i dunno....not sure why everyone is so head over heals with it, id be a bit pissed if someone called me a twit.

but from what i do understand, its stupid. Ford sucks, they need to think of something stupid to do to their cars every quarter to drive their sales even further down. stupid asses.

Drive their sales down? From every source I see Ford's doing good... Way better than the other American automakers, that is. I do agree the Twitter thing is quite stupid... They're just marketing their cars towards the younger generation, is all...

It all will soon not matter what any of the American car companies do... In due time, they will all be gone and we'll only be left with the foreign companies... We as Americans just no longer are good at the game anymore. We set the standard, but the other countries have far surpassed us and there's just no way we'll ever catch up...

And don't even get me started about how f'ed up I think it is American cars aren't even made in America anymore... I'm a firm believer AGAINST the outsourcing of jobs... That's one of the primary reasons we're in this economic rut. Ford's new idea, just like all the ideas the automakers come up with, is just something they're pulling out of their ass to try and make more sales.

Ford has seen some surprisingly good sales figures, but this one just might be the nail in the coffin. Twitter is just a trend that will fade in due time, rendering this new feature useless. Who knows, maybe it just might come in handy for somebody out there (just making a sad attempt of trying to play the devil's advocate here).
