It Has Finally Arrived!

so my friend from turkey left me a message on facebook saying i should have the package today. i rushed home and it was sitting in my foyer. i was happier than a pig in shit.
this stem is HEAVY. i dont have a scale but i would guess 1.5 times as heavy as my KM Pharonie. it shipped with two male bowls, one of which broke during transit. the second bowl is starting to crumble so i will definitely need to purchase a replacement. any suggestions on a high quality male bowl?

ps. lol @ using hockey tape as a grommet. i need to buy proper grommets for this thing as well. hopefully hookahjohn can help me out in this department.

Wow man, nice! I'm really diggin' it! Only thing I'm not crazy about is the female opening on the top, restricting you to using male bowls. Isn't there an adapter for this? Other than that, I'm loving it. How's it smoke?

That is a sexy hookah! I am usually not a fan of 100% brass colored hookahs, but damn that is a beauty. I LOVE that hose as well!!! I think you should convert it to a washable hose once it starts pooping out. I think you should also get a different vase. That stem is to sexy for that vase. Congrats on the great pick up!

Oi, so the Elmas also have the large casting seams like other Turkish stems. That and the off-center hole in the tray would irk the hell out of me.

I do have a couple questions if you don't mind answering. Is the hose air tight or is it breathable? Is the top of the hose port stem joint soldered or is it left open? Are the glass and stem (shank & hub) size 30s or 26s?

my friend got it for free from elmas.
shipping was supposed to cost $200CAD from turkey (yeah i know. ridiculous prices! i even verified it myself) but he doesnt want my money. lol
i guess it was free then.

By the way, I have a bowl exactly like the ones you broke, that I bought in Istanbul. I have a shitload of male bowls, I can sell it to you for a few bucks if you really want...the capacity is bigger than the Myas, can't speak for John's, but his look like a Leb bowl I have, and the Turkish ones are also bigger.

Also, one thing I forgot about and was reminded by your pics, Turkish nargiles have biiig trays, and I like that a lot

for some reason, when i called, the folks at HC would not give up the manufacturer, however, matt did say that they were not imported and i remember talking to eric about him making something like this, as well as it looking the same as the unfinished material that the phunnels are made out of. so basically i'm 99.9% sure that these are made by tangiers - $20.00 before the forum code is pretty steep though.

Damn, i kinda want to snag one of those just incase i ever do come into a female stem. But, at 20 bucks, bit too steep for me.

How difficult is it to ship to Canada? If its not to hard, if you cover the shipping and the cost of the piece and take the burden of it getting stuck in customs, and can wait until i get back to school, i might be able to ship one to you. Its up to you though, im guessing by the time you pay 20 bucks for the piece, then whatever it costs to ship it to me, then whatever it costs for me to ship it to canada, it might not be worth it. Let me know though.

ya that sounds like a possibility. we will figure it out . i also need proper grommets for this hookah. i dont like the idea of using cloth tape.

and screw the cold your a hookah smoker damn it toughen up lol. we want to know how well it smokes.

on a side note I love these kind of threads but hate them at the same time.
looking at pics of someone else opening up a new shipment to get there hookah just makes me want to order a new one myself lol.

oh and i forgot cant remember who said it but i was told those thin grommets that the small myas have are supposed to work good on male bowls just turn them upside down and slide them on the bowl.
