Vladimir
So shortly after turning 21 I developed a taste for beer, and decided I really liked the stuff (beyond the college "want to get wasted" attitude). Since then I embarked on a quest to try as many different beers as possible, akin to Stewie's Shisha quest I guess . I record every new beer I drink, and I finally got around to compiling my list (I normally snap a quick picture or save the name to a note in my phone, and then add it to the list). Each entry is a unique brew. Should be fairly complete (I know of at least 4 missing I cannot identify based off the picture/name I recorded). My favorite, the Rogue Chipotle Ale for being the most unique. My least favorite, the St. Peter's Cream- it tasted like Soy Sauce. 1. Alaskan Brewing Co- Amber 2. Alaskan Brewing Co- Summer Ale 3. Click
I have the same quest. I haven't recorded everything, but I remember every beer I've tried. Probably around 150. Try some more Stone Brew if you can find it. I prefer their Pale Ale over Rouge's.
Arcane
thanks to old chicago's in colorado springs, i've tried A LOT of beers...but, now i'm a bit more simpler in tastes...so instead of listing all the beers i've drank...i'll list the beers i currently drink... 1. Heineken hmmmm....that was easy.
rahl071
Try some shiner black/blonde/bock/some german words I can't remember. Solid beer, brewed not too far from me. Lemme know whatcha think.
kvtaco17
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery- 120 Minute IPA was very good I would say try it once... also where's all the Goose Island products... they're brews are delicious and if you live in Chicago the brews sold only in the pub and amazing and much more complex then the distributed versions... Jeff_T
Solid list Vlad. I wish I had done this when I started drinking beer. I'm sure my list is around 150, but I can't remember them all. I've recently started listing/rating some I've had and I'm continuing on from them. Are there places in Issaquah where you usually enjoy these at, or Seattle, or just all over? We should grab a brew sometime, I'm about 20 miles west (Auburn) of you...
They come from random bars around the state, and world actually (though some of them would be deceiving). Normally if I walk into a bar I can still find one or two things on tap I have not had... though it is now rare I find a restaurant that has something new to me. The Rogue Brewery/Pub in Issaquah is pretty impressive, and where a lot of it comes from. They are fairly good about rotating their tap handles, and have not just a great selection of Rogue brews, but also of guest brews. My number one to-visit is the Elysian brewery in Seattle, though, I rarely travel far as I don't want to be the designated driver, and I feel bad asking others to be for such a long ways (relative). It's not that I always drink to excess, but you don't get to 200+ beers in this time frame without having some friendly designated drivers . QFC's in the area actually have a really good selection as well, much of it comes from there. My dad has more narrowed tastes (while I like everything, there are some he won't even try), but we frequently buy each other pints from the store of new things to try together. I just found a shop near me, 99 Bottles, that has a ton of stuff. I've grabbed a few bombers from there, but only drank one. I'm aging the rest for about 6months+. The guy working there seemed like I was inconvienicing him asking just a few questions, which sucked, but whatever. They do have a beer tasting every Wed. that's 4 beers for like $2, so I'll probably be doing that once in a while. Haven't been to Elysian either, but another I want to try. I've only been to Pike Brewery and Hales. Do you ever come to Seattle for any of the beer festivals?
Jeff_T
Couldn't edit my post, but wanted to add... Just looked around and noticed 2 cool events coming up in a few weeks: Belgianfest in Georgetown (Sat. Jan. 23rd), Elysian/New Belgium "The Trip" Vertical at Beveridge Place Pub (Tues. Jan. 26th). I'll probably be going to at least one. If you feel up to going to one let me know, we can meet up.

A free keg of beer. It doesn't get any better than that. Lately, I've been drinking Dos Equis Ambar. I like El Modelo Negro, and Sol also. Another favorite of mine is by Coors called "Vieneese". The local bar sells it, but I can't find it anywhere, not even on the Coors website. I'm starting to think it doesn't exist. Blue Moon is good too. A few favorites on the micro brew circuit: Wasatch - First Ammendment, Apricot, Captian Bastard's Oatmeal Stout Roosters- Bees Knees Honey Wheat, Rosemary ale My creations: Nut Brown Ale, and a Guiness replica Edited January 11, 2010 by thatonethere

I'd tastefully enjoy quite a few though. Not sure how others feel about Belgians or darker Belgians, but right now (at least here) Trader Joe's has a Vintage Ale that was brewed for them by Unibroue that's $4.99 for a 750mL. Unibroue is a Canadian brewer that makes some great Belgian inspired beers (La Fin du Monde being their best, IMO). The Vintage Ale is like a mix between their La Fin du Monde and Maudite, its dark(er), strong (but doesn't taste like it) and has some good flavor (some fig/raisin/chocolate). Since I've seen it there I've picked up like 5. I'm aging a few for at least 6+ months as it's a beer that should age well and drank 3 so far, very enjoyable. sportsfan6216
What did you think of white frog? Its the only beer i've had from the Issy brewery and i thought it was quite good. I go to school in pullman and the bar in our student union building (yes we have a bar IN the student union building) has 44 beers on tap. That one from issy, a few from deschutes, and a few of the rouge brews.

Jeff_T
I got that... And $11 does sound a little steep for Hoegaarden, I think $8/9 is about what it is here. Not to say $11 is a ton though, I know I've spend over $15 for a 650/750mL, so it's all relative to taste and preference. Just picked up an Oaked Arrogant Bastard and Sam Adams Imperial White today, actually 2 of each. Going to drink the AB soon and I'm going to age the extras for at least 6 months, probably end up being a year or so.
