Just found a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat in the fridge today someone got. After having it, I'm pretty sure I'll never have one again. It was good to try for the sake of having tried it. If I had created this beer I would have definitely gone with a more realistic cherry taste that is not as overpowering and as sweet as the maraschino taste this beer had. It could have been delicious with a hint of Rainier cherry or something, but alas.

You should try Hofbrauhaus Wheat or Hef, I recently visited the Hofbrauhaus restaurant in Las Vegas and this beer was amazing! Best beer I have ever had, they sell them at bev mo, but if you get a chance to go to the restaurant it is far better.

When all of you beer people have "Orion" get back to me.

Its the only beer I'll ever drink, and I don't think I can get it in the states. You can get Arin-Krin there, but that one sucks.

I even bought a t-shirt for it

So at the risk of sounding like an alcoholic, I've been on a 6er a night for the past few nights. Nothing special or new, but the list of the most recent includes:

Left hand milk stout
St arnold's elissa
Newcastle brown ale
Sierra nevada torpedo
Stone ruination ipa
Shiner bock
Shiner black
Oskar blue's gordon ale

I've been hitting up my local beer bodega every day after work and grabbin some good brews. Cyrax can appreciate what the Yellow Store is all about and I've gotten to be included in the nightly conversations with other patrons about what to drink.
This is by no means an inclusive list of what I've tried/like but I figured I'd share a few of the recent brews I've been drinking - but those of yall on tinychat know what it is already. Edited by Dr. B

At this sushi place in Flagstaff, AZ my friends and I went to a lot they served Orian and Kirin. Always had the Orian and it was good for a lager, great for sake bombing.
I actually just had some of that Left Hand milk stout Dr. B mentioned in December over the holidays and it was pretty good. First milk stout I've had and def enjoyed it.

Yeah, Tx is full of $1 beer special bars which are great on those nights where you wanna just go crazy.
More often than not, I'd rather pay a bit more for a bigger selection of beers I've never had before though.

Just tried another new beer tonight, Sam Adams Imperial White. I was very impressed. It was $2.89 for a 12oz bottle at the local beer store. It's a heavy wheat beer with some of the characteristic Belgian wit flavors (orange, spice). It's interesting drinking it compared to a reg wheat and it's strong too, 10.3%. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants to try a different variation of a pretty common beer. Also got another one to try aging for a while and see how it compares.

Last night's sixer: Lobotomy Bock. I couldn't make it through the sixer being that the beer is 10.8% ABV but its like a bock had sex with an IPA and let me drink its lovechild. It isn't a very deep beer as far as flavor is concerned, but well rounded considering the ABV.

2 nights ago: Dogfish Head Raison D'Etre. Wow. I've been a fan of Dogfish Head but hadn't tried this before. Heavy, sweet, and complex flavor and no shortage of crisp hops flavor. 'Something I'd drink with a apricot/plum/raisin-based dessert. 8% ABV

Has anyone had Hair of the Dog's Adam before? I heard some good things about it and that it ages very well, so I grabbed 2 bottles the other day. I'm not sure when I'll try the first, but I'm planning on aging the other for as long as I possibly can. It was a little pricey, I think $4.99 for a 12oz. Also, just saw New Belgium has released an IPA (Ranger IPA), I think I'm going to have to pick some up when I see it.

Had some of the Ranger on draft here at the Houston Saucer (supposedly the only bar with it on draft in the country, at the time) and I have to say I really enjoyed it! Not too heavy on the hops, but very drinkable and tasty. A much needed break from the 80+ IBU ipa's I usually drink.

All in all, a nice beer from New Belgium.
