Anybody Smoke Fusion Lately?

Recommended Posts

I had Cactus Pear a few weeks ago. Clouds were bigger than Romman and Nakhla double apple, they were quite thunderous. However, I fiddled around with my setup relentlessly and I could never get that good of flavor. People here say that it gives great flavor, but I followed everyones advice and I just couldn't get it... Maybe the changed the recipe around or I had a bad batch. Regardless, it's a smooth smoke with category 5 clouds

I love Fusion. It's definately replaced a lot of my SB staples. If you like strong fruit flavors I reccomend starting off with Fusion Mandarin to see if you like the brand because the flavor is absolutely amazing.

Fusion is good, it is the only washed, super fruity, modern style shisha that i like. I liked it way more when it was unwashed, and cheaper.

I don't smoke it much anymore because sweet flavors for me get old really fast.

But if you are going to smoke any of those brands, fusion is the most consistent, and best priced for what you get. AF is cheaper but not as consistent and with their new cut AF loses points.

If you want a modern style shisha no question, hands down, go with fusion.

I have been really disappointed with fusion, there clove is quite good but most of the others lack in the flavor department.

Totally agree with you. I went out of my way to try fusion because everyone hailed its great flavor. I found weak flavor that went away quickly.

love fusion. Apple Pie is one of my favorite flavors and has a great blend of sweet apple and spicy cinnamon with some brown sugar in there also. Great clouds, nice flavor that isn't too over the top and lasts a good 45-60 minutes with a large QL AF charcoal. Tried a few of their other flavors also, but Apple Pie is my favorite, with blueberry second.

Honey-based flavors need to be packed right, honey likes to scorch. If you can imagine it this way, I would say honey-base tobaccos lie between molasses (high) and Corn Syrup (low)...on a scale of 1-10, 1 being corn syrup, 10 being molasses, I would pack honey based stuff about a 6. There are other factors, of course, but as a crude guideline.

Fusion hasn't sold that well and it would bear looking at expiration dates, to make sure the stuff is relatively fresh. Most of the stuff floating around out there is from older stocks. Hookah Company probably sells the most, so their stock might be the freshest. Just guessing out loud here.

how would you pack it differently?

Add more than you think. As I alluded to and as sonth mentioned, honey likes to scorch. I add quite a bit more tobacco to the bowl than you would for say AF, SB. And yes i have had batches that tasted like nothing then the same flavor again that was awesome. I agree with what Sonth said that Fusion is going through what Nakhla went through for quite some time with old old stock floating around that gives their stuff a bad rep.
