rahl071
Simple questions guys; what brand of hookah do you prefer, what do you like about it, what features did you like about it that were stock, What drew you to that brand when you bought your first pipe from that brand, and with who/where do you smoke? You don't have to answer all or any of course, but your input is valuable, especially for new people who join the forums. All in one place, your likes and dislikes. Also, anything about your hookah/brand that you think stands out. Pics if you want!

rahl071
Mya's the flag I fly, I like the looks and easy breakdown/cases that come with them, I liked that right out of the box it was easy to deal with, and small enough to carry everywhere. What drew me to Mya was previous experience with them, very satisfied previous experiences I might add. I usually smoke on the go, sometimes @ my dorm, or one of 15 or so apartments of friends with 15 minutes of my house. I usually smoke with at least 5 others, so. Yeah. Love my gear. rahl071
Sorry Vlad, was unclear. I guess it's a preference thread based on what you've owned/what you've smoked. List what you liked about each brand you've dealt with, would be a better way of putting it.
Arcane
i like a lot of the modern takes Tangiers does with flavors... and i like Nakhla because the experience "feels" more traditional.... for me, it's like the best of each side...
Tyler
Honestly out of every pipe I've smoked out of, including numerous KMs, Temsah, AF, Mya, and generic egyptians and syrians, my absolute favorite is my Stargate. It was my first pipe I owned and I loved it's futuristic style, durability, and traveling abilities. It's also super easy to break down and clean! hookah hippie
I own a lot of pipes and my favorite pipe would be my KM tri metal. A good size really durable and an excellent smoke
demonix
KM and Syrians.. nothing beats them.. I will never buy a Mya, aside from a QT or Bambino.. For shisha, Tangiers and Nakhla... once again, nothing beats them. I personally hate SB and Fantasia with a strong vengeance, that chemical taste is disgusting... qazxcv
Syrians Better than my KM. Depends on which one you get though.
I would actually say I'm confined by my bank account, not by choice. Im a Mya man. I really like the modern look, colors, and designs of myas. I prefer these over KM or any of those other brands. IMO km's and other egyptians/syrians/etc look ugly...but thats just me. I like the shine and colors of a Mya. My first hookah was a Bambino and I really thought it was a solid construction and very easy to clean and store away. Been getting them ever since. To me they smoke incredible, so I honestly have no reason to spend another $100 on a KM. I smoke with my housemates at school in our TV room lounging on couches with Christmas lights on listening to music. My current hookah is a Mya Dionysus off of Hookah-Shisha.com. Its got a blood red striped base with a maroon nammor hose and soon to be arabica red tangiers phunnel on top. Its sexy with the deep red and chrome. The picture is kind of ugly on the website, but in person its beautiful and the easiest thing in the world to assemble and break down. Tobacco wise I have become a Nakhla follower. Once I tried it, I just knew I couldn't go back to any modern kind of shisha. Its cheap and just absolutely amazing. I ordered some Tangiers though to try it out and see what all the fuss is about. I also use strictly coconara coals and wouldn't dare going back to quicklights.
Travis
My first pipe was from sahara smoke.......back then i knew nothing except I wanted to smoke. It was good (for a while at least). The downstem started to fall apart, and by the time this started happening i had learned alot and i knew i wanted a km. So after a while i bought one.....Km Amer. This is still my go to pipe. BUT i do love and own 3 myas, 1 syrian, and a temesh which all smoke beautifully As far as shisha goes id have to say tangiers <=> nakla. Depends on the mood im in really, i dont think ive smoked another brand in over a year. (havent tried mizo yet, but hoping to very soon) Granted i have smoked my fare share of brands (tang, nak, sb, fusion, af, afzal, HH yeah i know, aw, fantasia, layalina, blah blah blah) but tangiers and nakhla have ruined me. Sorry for the long post btw, Its just that i love talking about hookah with a passion! Edited January 11, 2010 by tpatt90
rahl071
Forgot to add, so far my favorite tobacco is, oddly enough, Havana Mint. It's got a nice cooling effect, and a bowl on my Mya Petite lasts me over an hour. At 10 bucks for 250g, it's not badly priced either. Haven't tried it in a bigger pipe yet, simply because it's so much easier to burn the little one in the dorms.
seefoodlover
My favorite is my no name Egyptian hookah (I think it's a Temsah, but who knows?). It's solid brass, and 32" tall. I love brass hookahs, I love that traditional look. I smoke at home, with either myself, or a friend. My favorite brand of shisha... This is a tough one, because I jump around a lot. Right now my current favorite is Al Waha and Fantasia. Pretty good stuff. About to take the dive into Tangiers.
hahaha...i just noticed this was hookah brands, not tobacco....wow! FAIL on my part... i like KMs...really, the only reason why is the pull. it's the looser than nearly every other hookah out there syrian and chinese have roughly the same restriction on the pull, so there's really not much to differ between them except styling and consistency. i prefer syrian aesthetics. the more "modern" chinese hookahs just look odd, imo. the benefits that chinese hookahs have is consistency. they look exactly the same from model to model, and with the case of myas...it's good quality and roughly the same across all models. Guest Cheng
Pipe wise I only ever used no name pipes untill I got my KM Amer, so KM FTW. Im just about to make an international order from john - I will be getting the green pear as it looks sexy! I would have preferred a Double green pear pipe (single hose) but he dont have them. As for Shisha, Al fakher for me, I havent tried stuff like starbuzz, fantasia or tangiers. When my package comes there will be some tangiers lucids in there, so I will get the chance to try that out
ryno
Smoked a few KMs, really like them. Traditional handmade look, stunning pipes Smoked a few smaller Myas, really like them. Small, durable, portable, and replacement parts are easy. Smoked a Syrian or two, really liked them. They have their own unique look Pretty much if its not Chinese crap that will break fast and has a decent pull, it will smoke fine. I think the how well a hookah smokes in more in the bowl/shisha/heat management/hose than the hookah.

phantastik
There are certain days for me, I mostly side with my KMs, but on some odd days i'll go towards my syrian or my mya. I think its because the pull on a km is too effortless, and i need some of that slight restriction to fully taste the flavor. I dont know though, i'm a pretty odd guy if you ask. KM's - Good Quality, Rough Handmade look Mya - Great Look, Great Smoke, Consistency, Single to Multihose ability. MZ - Similar to KM, less rough looking.

sine
Just got a new, shiny KM Guru, and I'm in love with every inch of it. Extremely solid, stable, beautiful, and the pull is great. As far as shisha goes, I can't take the charred sugar taste of washed brands after learning how to pack a good bowl of Tangiers... haven't had a chance to try Nakhla, but whenever. I get some spare cash I'm gonna place an order from HJ...

thatonethere
I don't have much experience with several brands of hookahs, but I really love my KM. One of these days, I will get a Mya QT strictly for travel purposes. Edited January 12, 2010 by thatonethere
