Everyone raves about the Phunnel Bowls, especially Tangiers. What makes it so special? It seems like the vortex would work equally well, am I missing something here? also have any of you tried stainless bowls?

Tangiers phunnel bowls have great airflow, and the way they are designed, none of the juices drop out of the bowl, making the smoke a little more flavorful and session last longer. The Vortex, although like a phunnel, for me has a more restricted pull and sessions just don't last that long for me. Stainless Steel bowls to me make heat management a bitch.

Do not forget that it is possible to get a bad vortex i.e. the holes are drilled way to low defeating the purpose of them. I have seen/heard this case plenty of times.
Never heard of a phunnel having that problem, maybe its all because theyre hand made in America.
They hold wayyyy more shisha thus extending your session.
The list is neverending.

Bottom line is that it looks cool.....and thats all that matters in life really.

i am not knocking the vortex bow.
i own one and yes it does its job just fine.
im only expressing my opinion.
do not turn this into a "NUH UH _______ BOWL IS BETTER!!" thread.

phunnels aer really well crafted bowls. they last forever, have awesome air flow, the flavoer seems like its more there with phunnels.
in regards to the vortex i think that the bowls dont last as long you can still gt a good smoke our of it but it has more of a restricted air fflow you cant pack the tangiers in it to tight or your not going to be able to any air flow at all. i own 3 phunnels and 1 vortex. i use all 4 the phunnels are used more though

Also, with the phunnel, the shisha is "baked" instead of having scorching air pass through the shisha, which chars it and ruins the flavor. With the phunnel, I never get any burnt flavor because the tobacco just cooks from an indirect heat source until it releases the vapors that can then be transported by the air when you pull. Ingenious. :-)

Actually, its the same process...they just don't know how they work, being as they invented it and understand the process so well.
