Loumeer
This review is for F-Line Cocoa Cut: Bigger peices of tobacco and very moist, really nice quality. Taste: Tastes like cocoa. Very strong flavor, don't try to smoke anything after this, you wont taste anything but cocoa. A very good strong cocoa flavor. Smoke: Fairly thick smoke and hit very strong. Very consistant. Buzz: Mild buzz, left you with that nice warm feeling in your head but nothing that will give you a head ache.I really like this flavor so long as I am not planning on smoking anything else afterwards. The caffeine didn't hit me as strong as I expected but it was definetly there. I highly enjoyed this flavor.--Amichai Israeli

pimpy
Man... I hate to ball-bust, knowing T is on the board, but I have to give an honest review of F-line.I read some other threads about having to do a bunch of special techniques to make T smoke well, and I disregarded all that... so I guess one might say its my fault...But, I'm used to just packing the bowl, laying a coal on and smoking.I must say that the smell of apple was incredible with this stuff. Reminded me of my very first time trying shisha. Great smell, but... F-line is not the stuff for my style. Felt harsh, no extra benefit of the caffeine, and smoke wasn't thick.I was a bit worried about getting knocked on my ass like Nahkla, given the harshness, but that was one good thing. Not a strong buzz.It was a bad enough experience that I just took the bowl off and tried my new Al Waha after nine... reminded me of a good smoke once again. Super smooth, perfect buzz... mmm... mmm...Sorry, T, but as you say - your stuff aint for urrybody.
cymptom
Just keep in mind that it IS possible to get thick, smooth smoke out of Tangiers. If you want it, just keep working at it. Try airing it out more and if the smoke doesn't improve, well... air it out even more Since airing mine out for a day and a half, I haven't had to do anything special to get it going real well. Just pack the bowl, lay on the coal and smoke And once you get it going good, you'll see the effects of the caffeine as well. I personally haven't found it to be as much of a knockout as some describe -- it hits me fast and pretty hard, but it fades out quite fast as well. I like it... usually leaves me feeling pretty clean and able to smoke more, in a good way...Also keep in mind that this guy is running a lounge, and he'd be out of business if his customers were getting the kind of smoking experience you described... It might be your bowl...I have been finding that Mya bowls don't seem to work too well with my tobacco...too weak a thermal transfer perhaps...what type of head are you using?OK, OK, I'll keep making tobacco, but Pimpy doesn't get any.I'm glad we agree, P, I've said from the outset, Tangiers is not for everybody. DownZero
I want to try some Tangiers. Sounds really good.. but I must wait till I run low on tobacco. When stating that you couldn't smoke anything after smoking cocoa, was it because you couldn't taste any other flavor after since your used to a sweet smoke, like when you eat a piece of cake then drink tea or something and the tea just don't taste the same? or because the scent of the cocoa was so strong that it's still in the hookah and overwhelms any other flavor? I know I get that when smoking chocolate mint... anything after, I must clean the water and hookah so I can taste the other flavors.
pimpy
Update:Tangiers won me over.He gave me a few pointers and I must say I had one of my best smokes EVER.I used the Tangiers bowl, set the stuff on a counter for a few hours before smoking it, and broke up a big coal into three pieces.Granted it's a much different smoke than I usually hit, I must say it was more enjoyable. First of all, the taste is genuine; not like a candy taste. It was watermellon, so I was expecting a Jolly Rancher type flavor. But, it was very natural tasting. Although the smoke clouds were not as thick, they were more enjoyable. I'm going to play with the coals next time to see if I can get it a little thicker. It's a little bit on the harsh side, but not a harsh buzz. You feel it in your lungs, but it doesn't hurt your throat. It tastes and feels like natural tobacco, as opposed to chemical additives. Really really really good.Only two downsides I would say. 1. Since I had to break up the coal, it doesn't last as long. I like plopping a coal on and having it last two hours. I'd rather not get back to where I'm lighting a coal every 30 minutes. 2. Having to set it out a few hours before hand can be a pain in the ass. I had some friends over friday night as sort of a pop-in, and I had to pop in the Al Waha for a quick smoke.Overall, the Tangiers smoke is very nice, and I'm looking forward to refining my technique. It's not a kid's shisha, but more like a classy adult's smoke. If Al Waha is Zima, Tangiers is an aged French wine. Since I'm turning 31, so I gotta get with some more T. Buford
For Mya Saray shisha owners, the big Tangiers bowls do work better for his tobacco, with the exception of mint which I've found to smoke better in a stock Mya bowl. I don't know that I'd use anything but Tangiers in a Tangiers bowl, though, as the holes are very large.
thepyrofish
I haven't had any real problems with Tangiers, but I'm still learning to get it going right. Maybe I should purchase one of his heads, rather than keep using my MYA.
djnick
tangiers tobacco used to sell tangiers bowls!!?? jk!i have been to tangiers hookah bar and personally seen eric back the bowl and how he lights the coals and preps everything. Its not too hard once you see it and pretty much the technique has already been mentioned serveral times. Since its a different cut and method of making the tobacco it wont smoke the traditional way, but after having him do it for me, stuff is great. And like someone said earlier the taste is more natural than artificial, guess it depends on what you like
