Well I would think that if you don't occasionally stir it only the stuff on top is going to get acclimated. I left mine out for a day and stirred it real well every few hours or so. It also probably depends on the size and shape of the container...

Ok, acclimation thing is pretty good, got some good smoke out of fumari white peach (no, it does not taste like soap.)  Couple of questions:1) What happened if you acclimated tobacco for too long.  Is it a good idea just to keep containers open all the time if you smoke every day?2) Most shisha is nicotinated right?  Are there 'denicotoniated' shisha's? thanks.

the best quality ma'assels do not need to be stored in airtight
containers since their "juicy" ingredients are not going to evaporate
on you. however, i usually still keep mine in little tubs just to keep
them from gathering dust and in case they tip over. I suppose if you
left it out for like a year it would probably get pretty dry and nasty.

i think he means tobacco that has had nicotine added? all tobacco has a
natural amount of nicotine. but different shisha has different amounts,
suggesting they add nicotine to it. this part is more of a guess
really. i dont know for sure. hopefully tangiers will clear it up. hes
a tobacco god.

Stirring is preferred when acclimating it helps speed the process along...the biggest problem with leaving tobacco out for long periods of time (months or what not) is the collection of dust which will tend to "dry" up the tobacco. If you actually leave the lid loose, but covered, it will protect the tobacco from dust better.
