aethiolas
This may seem an odd question but when you smoke, where do you place your hookah? For reasons of stability I always chose to place mine on the floor however I notice that in just about every video I see on youtube, the poster seems to have their hookah on a table. Also, the local hookah bar does the same. For some reason, when at home I have an issue of knocking things over so I wonder if for some reason, it would actually be more stable on a table. Any ideas, thoughts, opinions?
chinamon
if its a small hookah and i am able to access the bowl area (for coal management) with ease when it is placed on the table then i will put it on the table. if its a big hookah and it is easier for me to manage the coals when it is sitting on the floor then it goes on the floor. JOE
yah, wherever it is sturdy and accessible
Hassouni
The floor for sure. Apart from the fact that nobody in a traditional hookah smoking country would be caught dead with it on the table, it's vastly more secure there then on a table
Deutsch am Herzen
exactly, where every its most sturdy. i use mine on the table, even tho its near 3' tall. if you're on carpet i'd def have it on like a piece of plywood or something; so it doesnt give in either direction
nars2k
Honestly its dependent on where you smoke. All in all I prefer it on the floor. When I smoke the KMs in a garage its on the floor. When I smoke my Mini Egyptian in my room its on the desk, if I leave it on the floor It will tip over due to the carpet and Im not looking to burn anything. Arcane
usually on the floor, unless i'm smokin with people i don't know or trust...then it goes on the table, where everyone can see it... i'll put my QT on my desk if i want to smoke and have to sit at my computer for a while... mushrat
at home, on the floor but the dogs have to be outside. In the bar, i set them on the tables because they are small and people won't trip on them as they would on the floor. I think traditionally they are supposed to be set on the floor. Chreees
Traditionally they go on the floor, but when you have a small Mya QT, it's just easier having it on the coffee table while watching TV or the desk while on the computer.
mxtaylor
I put my little Mya on the coffee table. When I get my bigger one, I want to build a cabinet for it to sink the vase into a little bit to secure it
Deutsch am Herzen
I put my little Mya on the coffee table. When I get my bigger one, I want to build a cabinet for it to sink the vase into a little bit to secure it
the cabinet is a good idea. the hookah bar nearest me did something similar with low tables with holes cut in it for the stem to come out, basically impossible for the pipes to tip over. and you get the bonus of having table space
Not Another Tool
Floor with a small base of wood under it for extra stability and if a small piece of coal falls then it doesn't get the carpet. So far in my new place thanks to this system and being very careful I have no carpet burns or anything of the sort. Btw the peice of wood is fairly small allowing about six inches around the hookah for fall space. If I had a small one I would consider putting it on a coffee table too despite not being traditional. But in the end its really up to you and what you find comfortable and easy to use / modify the coals.
