contristo
my Mya Bohemian is on the edge of death... there are cracks alongside the inside and I can actually hear frail glass when I squeeze it just a little bit. it's pretty amazing that it can still hold water right now, but obviously it will give out soon. maybe even this session. i don't have the money to buy a new hookah right now, so i was looking for a replacement base. my question was, could you guys tell me the difference between these two listings? http://www.southsmoke.com/pd_bohemian.cfm http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=819&DEPARTMENT_ID=36 is southsmoke selling a knock-off since its $5 less? also, how long does MYA usually take to ship? i could imagine that being a disaster. contristo
also, do screw-on bases only work with screw-on stems? the southsmoke link above and this one are the exact same product: http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=938&DEPARTMENT_ID=36 but the $15 difference seems suspicious to me. what's up? rahl071
southsmoke's stuff is less money is all. I order my stuff from there, always comes with the genuine mya stickering and whatnot. Buy the vortex base, it fits as well and its sexier

rahl071
Oh, and it's got a bigger footprint. Little more stable, but honestly the bohemian's fine.
foibled again
my question was, could you guys tell me the difference between these two listings? http://www.southsmoke.com/pd_bohemian.cfm http://www.myasaray.com/store/item.asp?ITEM_ID=819&DEPARTMENT_ID=36
The first ones are Mya screw on vases but are not real Bohemian glass and are of lesser quality. They are more than likely made in Romania unless Mya has switched to Chinese glass for the screw ons also. The ones in the second link are actual Bohemian glass vases. Real Bohemian glass is becoming harder to find among Myas, aside from their crystal line, and now many are merely "Bohemian-style". You could get a non screw on stem to work on a screw on vase if your stem's shank is small enough but it is unlikely because the screw on tops of the vases have pretty small openings, ~1-5/16". That's smaller than even a size 22 vase and a typical size 26 shank won't physically fit. If you are looking for real Bohemian glass, you can also find them at http://www.hookahcompany.com/medium_montego_bell_vase_3098_prd1.htm

white_rabbit
I've never had any problems with South Smoke. I buy off of them a lot and they have never done wrong. I would order off of them.
Stuie
Let's just say I have a strong preference.... Get a base like this.... http://hookahcompany.com/medium_montego_bell_vase_3098_prd1.htm I have a Mya stem on one and it's dead sexy! Lighting is kind of bad, this picture doesn't do it justice.
