Awareness Store. I get it. Its an oxymoron. That and how she doesn't understand oxygen bars...she's an oxymoron.

i wanna know what "noise" she's soo worried about. i dont really know anyone thats dying to go to an awareness shop at 11pm....just sayin. every lounge ive ever been to doesnt really get "busy" until about 8 or 9 anyway with people getting off work or whatever. i hate people like that; uneducated and ignorant...what a mix...

Obviously I don't agree with her conclusions, but she's entitled to her opinion and to work the process even if she's massively unsuccessful and completely misinformed. That freedom thing getting in the way again.

I just find it Ironic that a woman who practices one of the most misunderstood religions on the planet is now fighting a battle against hookah.

I mean if you stop and think about it its kind of funny.

Wiccans are persecuted because people refuse to take the time to understand and learn about there culture

but yet she is doing the same thing to our subculture. refusing to learn about it and understand it.

but that is the mind of man. we fear what we dont understand. and instead of alleviating those fears by learning about them we instead close our minds and spout hate.

My guess is she's not personally a "real" Wiccan, and she's poser just running a store trying to make money off what she thinks is an tempting fad. Pagans are human and come with all the usual flaws as the rest of humanity, but it's really rare for one to not be at least interested in the exotic which hookah certainly is. And like you pointed out Charley, to be persecuted usually opens someone up to the injustice of persecution. In an entire lifetime of working with various pagan traditions, I've yet to come across a single pagan who isn't willing to at least talk about something new or different to them.

All of the above is what leads me to believe she's just a shop owner with absolutely no true spiritual connection with what her store sells.

I live about 40 minutes from New Paltz, we have no hookah bars around here but I still don't know If I'd drive there just to pay more money than it would be to smoke my own.
