Lukasa
The past few times i've smoked (i usually smoke on weekends, in big 3-4 bowl long sessions about 2 hours in length) I've gotten bored with smoking, and have started to feel nauseous and notice unpleasant tastes that must have always been in my smoke (i've tasted a "fishy" taste a few times, very unnerving). I have no idea what i need to do to rekindle my once passionate affair with shisha. I was considering buying a MYA QT 2-hoser, but now im not so sure i should; if i am getting sick of smoking... smokinshisha4life
Try cleaning your hookah thoroughly and clean out your hoses if they're washable.
steve07
Just quit smoking it for a while and see if that helps. and buy all means clean your hookah.
DownZero
It really sounds like a cleaning problem.. Whenever I come across something not cleaned so well, like drinking glasses, I can only describe the smell as fish or dirty wet rag. So in this case, maybe your hookah needs to be cleaned thoroughly. If thats not the case, maybe your tobacco went bad or maybe just tired of the flavors your smoking... IF thats not the case... then do as steve suggested: quit for awhile. Hope you regain your passion.
Lukasa
I just cleaned my hose out VERY thoroughly. I must have run 2-3 gallons of water through it. I've run warm water, cold water, water w/ lemon juice throught the hose. Even filled it with water and swung the hose around to agitate it, but every time the water comes out reddish with pieces of sediment. And every time i dry it by blowing through it, it has this weird fishy taste. it has a faint taste of like nasty tuna or something
SanguineSolitude
is your hose washable? actually nevermind buy a new hose even if it is. that sounds just gross.
Sonthert
Get a new hose, get a new pipe. These things will get better as the weather improves.
steve07
Try soaking your base and stem in vineger and see if that helps and mayby get a new hose. If your hose is washable run vinager threw it see if that helps.
hookah~rob~
sounds like your hose rusted, i read a wile back on here about running water through a hose that wasnt washable. mine did that when a friend of mine cleaned out my qt hose at his place. got a new hose and it was ok. Loumeer
This happened to me too a while back, I started to hate the stuff. I took a break for a few months and then got myself some quality shisha and well, I'm back. You can give that a try.--Amichai Israeli
Lukasa
The hose is reletively new, i got it 2 weeks ago and so have only smoked 12 or so bowls through it. The guy at GuessHookah said it was washable, and he knows his stuff, so i'm pretty confident that it is indeed a washable hose.
zzzzzT
Get some brushes and some watered down dish soap and run them through that hookah. Maybe your coals are making off flavors. I notice some brands can give some funky flavors. Now all I use is good quality Japanese coals to avoid this.
SanguineSolitude
i dont believe that your hose is washable. none pictured on the guesshookah site look like they are. and a washable hose wouldnt have the red flakes when you blow through it. those are rust and come from the metal coils inside the hose. in addition the washable hoses have a rubber lining which doesnt get musty and such. i suggest you buy a mya. or just another nonwashable and dont wash it. Lukasa
The hose itself is red, so that is what is making the water that runs through the hose red. If the coloring was from rust, it would be a brownish/orange color. This color is bright red, the exact color that the hose is.
Sonthert
I've found people often quit in the spring and the fall, when the weather's getting warmer (cooler).
