Km Tri-Metal 3 Hose

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just recently bought a KM Tri-metal from a banned vendor but was looking for a few answers. Pretty happy with my purchase, just that I need some help.

The tray and the stem rattles a lot, is there any way to prevent this? I ended up just putting a rubber coaster on each side but it was kinda ghetto.

This might be for the DIY'ers but a friend was thinking to just put a marble or a large ball bearing into the hose stems and putting a nail through it to have a stop valve. Would that actually work?

Also, a tip for everyone: I bought a rubber coaster and put needle pins through it so I don't have to poke holes into the foil every time. It worked amazingly, just make sure you safely store it :) Edited by camelflage

First, welcome!

Second, you need to read the rules: http://www.hookahforum.com/forum/45-forum-rules/ The vendor you listed is a banned vendor here.

Third, the tray rattles a lot? yeah that happens. Until I get a few coals in there, I just lay my tongs in there, stops it from rattling.

Fourth, You bought a KM Multihose, What you are describing on doing, I would recommend, too much can go wrong in that process. Odds are you will end up having to epoxy the holes and take it back to normal after you attempt.

for the tray, get some of those rubber electronics feet and put a few on the bottom and it will stop rattling.

as for the stop valve, i would suggest something that doesnt puncture the port or else you will lose your vacuum...

and yes, please make sure you glance at the rules so that you are familiar with how the forum works.

Yea sorry, I did not see the banned vendor list. When I was looking through the search forums before I chose my vendor I didn't come across anything bad. Seeing them on the banned list makes me a bit disappointed, oh well.

Thanks guys. I won't be putting any holes into my hookah. But is there any way to easily plug the hookah hose without having someone holding it while using multi port... caps, rubber plugs?

I was doing a solo session and was playing around with the release valve... whenever I cover it I seem to be getting bigger hits of smoke. Is this normal? It seems like it's taking in air when I don't cover it, maybe it's just me?

Sounds like your ball bearing isn't sealing properly. I would check it to see if there is anything stuck to it and that's it's smooth all around.

I took off the purge valve and saw that the ball bearing was stuck at the top of it. Smokes correctly now, thanks alot Stuie!

The old BB stuck at the top of the vent trick. Its a classic.

Rattly trays are often caused by slanted or wobbly jars. There are attractive bead do-dads that fit between the tray and tray-plate and have long, dangly beaded strands. They are perfect for the rattly tray.

My Tamseh trays don't rattle at all...I've got 6 of them. I wonder what's up with yours? Is your jar OK?

I hate wobbly jars. My solemn sworn duty is to leave all wobbly jars at the wholesaler. Sometimes I get a slanted jar though...if I'm not looking too closely.

I always got annoyed with my KM tray rattling. So I got four small strips of duct tape and put it on the bottom of my tray towards the center so the duct tape separates the tray from that little platform. Solved it instantly. I also got really paranoid about the duct tape melting when I lay a coal in the tray. Good news is, I've left half a coconara in there for a good 30 minutes and haven't had any melted duct tape. Its a quick fix and no one see's the duct tape :)
