Multihose Recommendations?

Recommended Posts

So if you're familiar with my previous posts, you know I own a gorgeous 42" MZ. And I love this hookah. But I've noticed lately that the single hoser isn't efficient when I have people over. It can be up to 10 minutes before I get the hose again. So it's time for another hookah. I'm thinking 3 or 4 hose. 2 hose isn't enough, and any more than 4 is a hassle. So any recommendations? Also, are rotators effective? I found some gorgeous ones online. Oh yeah...around the $150 range; $200 at the most. Naturally, cheaper is better. Thanks!!

With that many people an acrylic like Victim posted is a good idea. Also, I think more than 2 hoses is overkill.

I only posted the 3 hose because thats what he is looking for, I would sooner getting a whole second hookah going before getting a multihose out for when I have friends over.

Get a Mya hookah and some auto-seal adaptors. The auto-seals take the hassle of plugging your hose when another person draws out of the equation. I added an auto-seal to my Mya and I love it.

Perhaps "party" was bad choice of words. Just whenever I have some friends over. It's always pretty chill so I don't need anything bomb proof. It's just that 6 people on a single hose isn't very practical. I figure with a 3 hose, 2 people per hose. Or I could get a 4 hose, pull "host rule," and have a hose to myself while the rest share :good2: haha

well...either way, won't you have to wait the same amount of time if you're giving people an equal oppurtunity to smoke? if you take your pull, won't you still have to wait till the 5 other people have had their turn before you take a pull?

just my thoughts...

Not really. That's the point of a multi-hose: so multiple people can inhale at the same time.

well, there's a problem with that....

let's say you get a hookah with an auto-seal adapter....if two people pull at the same time, then one of you is gonna "lose" and end up with your port being plugged up by the ball bearing. this was actually a fun game in korea when we were drunk..lol!

if your hookah doesn't have an auto seal adapter (like a KM) and two people pull at the same time, you're essentially getting half-hits (or thirds if 3 people are pulling)...so, you're smoking more often but getting weaker hits. this is the reason why people put them thumb over the tip in multi-hose hookahs when other people are pulling...

also, i think the point of a multi-hose is so you don't have to pass the hose off as often...not so much taking a pull at the same time. Edited by Arcane

Jay hit it on the head...

When I had the auto-seal adapters on my old QT, if I was taking a hit and my friend tried at the same time, his ball bearing would just remain stuck and would be really hard to pull open. It's possible to get it to open up and both people hit at the same time, but it's a hassle. Exactly why I didn't get auto-seals for my new QT. I just plug, and make sure whoever I smoke with (very rarely) plugs as well. I usually smoke solo though...

A friend of mine recently ordered a 3 hose with auto-seal, and we had 3 people smoking on it. No drawing problems what-so-ever. We would start at the same time and end at the same time and still get some decent clouds. And no one inhaled hard enough to cause the ball bearings to seal off. So that's not an issue with me. I'm just asking about aesthetics and stability and if rotators are worth it.

starting your hits and ending at the same time imo i say if you are going to have a multi hose then you are sitting there chilling just passing the hoses not trzing to hit at the same time. even then hitting at the same time decent clouds are probably very poor clouds, because you can only fit so much air down the stem at one time so when 3 people are trying to inhale the same amount of air that a single person can inhale you are going to have very poor results. seems like it would just be a waist of breath. i would rather just wait till its my turn or if im host and have my own hose i hit when no one else is hitting even if its not my turn but thats just me of course.

I have a 4 Hose Mya. Works like a charm, smokes beautifully and not hard to maintain at all I dont know where people are getting that it is harder to maintain than a standard 1 hose hookah.

Also let me say this... My friends and I have had no problems having 2 people pulling at one time and cloud size. More than 2 is pushing it for being able to pull anyways.

Get a nice Mya: Obelisk like Stuie said or a Gyro. Buy the one hose version then just buy 3 extra adapters, Nammors and voila! Hookah Heaven my friend. Multi hosers are a must for an upwards of 3 people smoking. EVen when Im smoking with 2 buddies we all have our own hoses in hand!

You missed the point I was trying to make. We did that one time, intentionally, to see if having multiple people inhaling at the same time would be an issue. It wasn't for us. All 3 of us had big clouds. Didn't have to inhale any harder or longer than usual. Just "normal" inhales. After that, we just took hits whenever we wanted. No one ever got the short end of the stick. So for the last time...having multiple people inhale at the same time is not an issue. Some of you must be trying to suck a golf ball through a hookah hose if you're causing other smoker's autoseal to close up. Or maybe I just have that big of lung capacity?

And I would love an Obelisk if it was just a taaaaaaad bit cheaper. Or I buy it and stop smoking daily so that any money that would go to coal, goes to pay it off. I'll think about it.
