rhineholt
I cleaned it today. So far so good. I took out the fish, the plants, and i used the rubber hose from the bubbler and mixed up the rocks to get the debris in the water. I got as much of the shit and old food out as I could then i dumped nearly half the water. I took my gallon of water that I had sittin in a water jug for a few days and dumped that in there. I put the plants back in and put the fish back in. I put the filter back in and now it looks better then it did. So did I do everything right? johnicd
Sounds like you did everything by the book man. As long as you did decholorinate the water that you put in. But yes, thats how I would do it on a tank that size and the fish should be happy!

seefoodlover
I used to keep a small tank like that with shrimp in it. Those things were the coolest. I have also had quite a few larger fish tanks in my time. Think i'm gonna start back up again, but this time saltwater now that I know that I can maintain a saltwater tank in a 20gal tank. rhineholt
Question. My water STILL smells and I just cleaned the tank. What could that be?
