spectrum055
But this morning I wanted to finish off a bowl of Peach Ice Tea and I ran out of the coals I normally use for Tang. And decided to try to see if my pair of Scissors work for cutting up the squares of Coco's. Since I've read there are those on the forums who smoke Tang with Coco's, so I tried and well I cut up one coal into four pieces but had to cut up a second to get enough heat. But my reaction after it warmed the bowl up was that of WOW, I'm getting a much better flavor and smoke using Coco's rather then the Japanese Coals Granted it's a little more work now to cut up some coals but damn if it isn't worth it now. Just had to get that out, I feel really cool at the moment for trying this out finally.
Stuie
I am still finding the happy median. Cocos personally I think burn too hot for Tangiers, but I am still working on using japs properly. I still use cocos on them, but it's just slightly harsh verses other types of coals.
RingsMaster
i find that using 3 halves on my mini phunnel is a happy place for me at least
Webbles
Cocos definately run hotter than jap coals. But whats nice about jap coals is lighting them on top of each other. I essentially just light 1 stick of jap coals and continuously light them on top of the bowl. Now, if i could do that with cocos, then i would use cocos instead. Cocos IMO are just easier to manage heat with, IMO.
Chreees
I always use two CCN's split into four halves on my small phunnel with Tangiers and Nakhla alike. When I get my Mini, I'm sure I'll have to use three halves or something... But I really do like my Cocos.
maestroelite
I use Exoticas on Tangiers, they're perfect. Low heat, long lasting. Cut the thirds in thirds.

[/quote] yah what sucks about the Jap coals is they don't last to long so for me I run through Jap Coals pretty fast and my local place just recently stopped stocking them so I might ahve to order coals now XD
