Jaffi
Hey About 2 Weeks ago, I got 2 bricks of OG Tangiers, New Lime and Summer Solstice. Now, New Lime smelled excellent right out of the package, but summer solstice gave me no hint of melon/guava, just soy/bbq sauce smell. I acclimated it a lot, like 4 hours open, 20 closed, even about 10-15 hours open, stirred it up now and then, but the smell didn't even change a tiny bit. Until now it acclimated over 40-50 hours. Is there something else I can do?

Occasionally some blended flavors from Tangiers never smell right to me, but they smoke just fine. If it's still bad after a bowl, then call Eric. Numbers on the package. Or you could send him a PM if you don't want the cost of a phone call. 'Rani
Webbles
Summer soltice reaks of guava and watermellon. I personally wouldnt smoke it if it doesnt smell good. Flavors like cooling or blackthorn arent meant for any smell, but definately not summer soltice. Try putting it in the freezer for 2-3 hours - then start the 4 hour uncovered - 20 hours covered a couple of times. To really get a sense of its smell, when you uncover it after the first 20hr-covered session, ya SHOULD get some kind of yummy smell. IF you dont, do another round of 4 / 20. If by at least 3 sessions ( i know 3 days, it sux) ya STILL dont get any kinda smell, then keep doing it till ya do. Ya really dont want to leave it exposed for longer than 24hrs straight, IMO. The covered, uncovered method is the best.
dizzbizz
When I acclimate I noticed I get better results when I stir it regularly. About every half hour.
Jaffi
When putting it in the freezer, should the tub be closed?
ih303
The container should be closed. I don't think ice crystals and shisha mix. I had an idea last night. (forgive me if someone has already thought of it) I don't know about you, but I use those disposable tupperwares that come in like four to a pack. I was thinking what if I took one of the extra lids and poked some holes in it, then let it just sit until it smelled right? Using a small number of holes would limit the amount of air coming in allowing the tobacco to acclimate gradually. I can't imagine this being much different than the 4:20 method except it's more of a "set it and forget it" type.
Sonthert
I think that leaving the tub open is the best...its how the dry air in the freezer dries out the tobacco. I would try smoking it...was there any damage to the package at all? Did it look OK and everything?
Jaffi
Package looked good! Ok then I'll leave the tub open, thanks! Gonna report how it worked!
rcracer_tx
Hey Eric, is this flavor a more difficult one to acclimate?
mattarios2
Nobody has ever complained about this flavor not acclimating so I would think it is like any other "normal" tang flavor and not picky like some are.
Milk With Pulp
I just received another order of tangiers, I made first purchase, Orange Soda, Mari Cherry and Peach Iced Tea, So far the Peach iced tea wont acclimate or has a weird smell, the peach gonna be strong or a more pungent tea smell? My order I just received today was Kashmir Peach, Bramble berry & Blue Gumball, Both Gumball and Kashmir smell nothing like what they say, so I just opened them up put them in my containers and letting them sit with the top off, so one method to get my iced tea to acclimate or smell right is to, put into freezer for so many hours, pull it out stir put back into freezer and repeat? Sonthert
Jaffi, if you are still having problems, send me a PM. When I said leave it open, I meant leave it open in the freezer. I don't think leaving it open outside the freezer is that good. Guava and watermelon will both fade...so keeping it sealed up is a good plan. Use the Open 4, closed 20 thing for two days...then seal it up completely for a couple of days. Milk: I think we came up with leaving them open for 4 hours and sealing them up for 20 hours to get them to acclimate. Try that first. Leaving them open continuously can deplete the flavor so it will never acclimate. Blue gum ball always smells strange. Where did you get Kashmir from? If you continue to have problems, shoot me a PM. Milk With Pulp
All from Hookah-John, I will try the 4 hours, 20 hour method, I will try doing this a few days and see what it comes up with. Appreciate it, I will be out to your shop in a month or two, my buddy lives in La Jolla so I can meet up and check it out and also get the packing method from you personally so I never screw it up xD.
