My First Hookah Expliation

So, my roommates girlfriends parents were in town today. We figured, Ok sweet, they'll come pick up Lacey (my roommates girlfriend) and we'll be free to do whatever. Well as it turns up, they show up with 5 6 packs of assorted beer (rouge dead guy, shock top......) anyways, my hookah and shisha is displayed in the living room. They all noticed when they walked in, but none of them had the guts (for lack of a better word) to say anything about it. However after a few beers, that changed in a hurry.

All of them immediacy were assuming NHT and NH. Which doesn't surprise me in the least. It was really awesome though because they were very receptive to an explanation of what it is and how it works. I broke out the Starbuzz Pumpkin Pie containers (one of the strongest smelling shisha in existence IMO) and let them smell and they were all blown away.

We are going to a play that their Lacey is in and i'm hoping to invite them back after wards to actually experience hookah, as we were rushed for time beforehand and they were so excited about it.

I know there have been stupid amounts of threads about this in the past but i was so excited about the positive response from people much older than me (me being 21, them being in their late 40s) that i thought i would share.

Reminds me of a time over the summer when I brought my hookah to a friends place. We were smoking outside and my buddy's parents came out. They ended up sitting with us and tried out a nice mix of lemon and mint. would have never thought them to be open to the idea of hookah.

Exactly, I'm used to having to hide it from "real adults", my parents included, but the fact that they showed up with beer for their under aged daughter and her friends should have told me that they would be really receptive to it.

Thats pretty awesome, my buddys mom would chill and smoke with us sometimes.
Brought my first km out and chilled with our feet in the pool with the hookah between us blasting some music and knockin down a few drinks.
Great times.......

very cool many of my friends parents don't mind hookahs the only that seem to be bothered by my parents. It is quite hilarious though because I have a giant hookah collection nothing like having your own place

Sadly enough, after the show they decided to hit the sack (being old and all they get tired), maybe next time, either way, it was still awesome to me how receptive they were to something they truly didn't understand.

Pretty cool man. After I got my first hookah I took it to my friends house and his whole family (Dad, Mom and sisters) all sat down and had a smoke with us and we talked about hookah, etc. It was awesome. Def feels good to change peoples perceptions and open their eyes to something new.
