chatfouz
i am going backpacking this spring break for a week. Going with 10 other friends and the park does not allow camp fires. so i figured a hookah is the next best thing. Anyone have any recommendations? i have no problem building my own. Im just looking for something that i can either strap on my bag or will fit well into my bag well enough. i don't care how pretty it is. Just that the weight is as low as possible and it won't break easily. i dont know if there is even the option out there but i figured if anyone knew yall would

Zinite
1) Spend $100 at Hookah-Shisha.com on coals/tobacco and get a free Mya Acrylic (code "free hookah"). 2) Mya Petite is like $25. Both are good travel hookahs.
thehelios
Hobohookah for sure. I'm saying this over the Mya Acrylic is because of compactability. You can use a water bottle as the base for the hobo and it has a very low profile. Way easier to carry that around compared to the acrylic's base. Amn_sinclair
i would say go with the hobo in my opinion... the acrylics are great hookahs and im not trying to knock on them but that heavy base is gonna kill you if you are planning on hiking long distances. while its really not that heavy, it will be by the end of the day, it easiers to get the lightest thing possible and through that in. so i suggest the hobo
Venger
depending how much weight is an issue I recommend the mya QT. It has a heavy glass base that is thick and hard to tip over. Also the mya QT comes in a cage that you can set up the rig in. I camp with mine all the time. hookah with a handle and the cage protects everything except the bowl which sticks out the top of the cage.

Can-O-War
If your backpacking longer distances and weight is an issue, i would recommend the Hobo and a good fitting sturdy water bottle for serious low weight. If you have less concerns about space/weight go with the mya acrylic. Also, make sure nothing leaks and your bowl is protected while packing. That could easily ruin the entire hookah part of the trip, and don't forget that the smaller the base, the less water is wasted.

johnp
Well...if you're looking to travel light, I'd say go with the HoboNargile and make sure you have at least one glass bottle or fairly heavy duty plastic bottle available. The thing packs small and seems to work with just about every bottle I've tried. Just be careful with flimsier plastic bottles, as the top seems to shake back and forth a good bit. You may want to bury the base or put it in something to secure it.... I traveled with an acrylic before too, and that also works, but it all comes down to what you want to stuff in your pack. With the Hobo, if you break your base-you just grab another bottle. The acrylic-not that you're going to break it, but-if the base breaks, you're done. There are other options too, of course. jellywerker
Get the hobo. It's like $40 bucks right now, and it's seriously kickass for a travel/party hookah. There really is not a better option for a super portable, durable hookah. Mine was liked so much it was stolen out of my backpack.
