Donations

So I was going to put this in a different section but I figured most people on this forum surf this section.

I have noticed donations to be somewhat weak compared to the monthly goals.

So why don't we come up with a list of people who are willing to donate $1 a month. I know times are tough at the moment for all of us, but 1 dollar a month, that's 12 bucks a year, think of it as a subscription to be on the forum.

If we can get a solid list of people we could possibly donate 100 bucks a month, which isn't the forum goal of 250 a month (so it seems from the donation thing) but it still helps a lot. And if people want to be generous and donate 2 a month we would just about hit the goal for the month. ... ... It would at least be more money donated than what we have been seeing since the forum upgrade.

At the end of each month we can compare who donated the dollar in the donations section to our list, and for those who didn't donate a dollar, they get knocked off the donation list we create.

Possibly talk to vendors, and if there is vendor willing, they can give us 16 or 17% off instead of the 15% off for all people on the list. That way we get a discount for spending a couple bucks on the forum, and the vendor will make more sales because this hopefully large list will give "said vendor" all of our business ... just spit-balling.

Anyone willing? Or have any ideas on how to make it work nicely ... be my guest.

It seems like a good idea, I would chip in. But not alot of people have MF accounts and ect. Seems like a good idea, If the vendors up that percentage, I'm sure alot more people would donate.

Or maybe give free shipping on a lower priced order, even once a month offer a buy one of whatever brand get half off, or ya know whatever works for the vendor so they are able to make more profit off of the higher amount of traffic, we want it to be a win win for everyone.

Yeah, Both parties should be able to benefit from something like this... More business for them and better prices for us. A true win-win situation :ylsuper:

I'd be willing to donate, but the bolded statement I do not agree with IF this plan ended up doing that. It would make other vendors angry, and besides, there's not one vendor online who has everything I like... One thing I do like about this plan is it'd lower prices, which I think are getting way out of hand. And I also think this is the most awesome forum ever and want to do my part to keep it thriving.

I didn't literally mean ALL OF OUR BUSINESS. But they will get more business in return, so everyone benefits.

Anyone else willing to help out? I will wait a while before making moves, to see if anyone else willing.

Ah, okay. Lol. Sorry, I take things too literally...

Either way, I'm still down. I'm poor, but I can afford atleast a buck maybe a few every month for my main forum!

well...those who can will, those who can't or don't want to won't and everything will continue as usual. Adrock can tell you himself, but in our discussions I believe all he really wants is to provide a cool, laid back, serious hookah smoker's forum. Me and the mods work to keep it that way. I feel my time is my contribution. And unlike other forums, we dont have to put up with Banner ads. :D
