dizzbizz
I went to a lounge called Hubbly Bubbly. It was a great little place and honestly its the best lounge I've been too. On the menu I noticed they had fruit bowls, kind of pricey($17 for a pineapple bowl, which I ordered). The pineapple taste was fantastic. Got it packed with Sex on the Beach. Why haven't I thought about this before? I've heard of people doing it but I haven't really tried it out myself. I felt so inspired, I bought some AF Golden Esk and I'm gonna buy some Grannysmith apples tomorrow night to try it out. Has anyone else tried this? Why isn't this in the how-to section? Codename067
Check the sig yo! I do both Apple and Pear, but I personally liked the Apple better. It can take more heat and it's rather easier to work with.
Deutsch am Herzen
ive tried af esk apple out of a red apple before. only once tho. i think i ended up putting too much heat on it cause the apple got destroyed before all the shisha was used up
Stuie
I like the idea of it. But for me I just haven't felt the urge.

Charley
nothing beats a good fresh I usually use apples just cut it in half dig a small bowl shape in the middle. then on the bottom cut out a smaller bowl shape so that it will make a tight fit on your stem. making sure to leave some apple in the middle (a layer of apple between the two holes.) then use a tooth pick to poke holes in that. then load with your preferred packing method cover with foil and enjoy. do note however you will get juices from the fruit all over your stem inside and out. wash it very well or it will get all sticky and leave a taste. do so as soon as your done dont leave it sit. Charley
as long as you wash it good as soon as your done its fine. altho I would not use one of your nicer hookahs (I would never do it with my KM) honestly i just use my old cheap Chinese for it. a shorter hookah works best just because you can soak them easier if something comes up and you cant immediately clean it when your done. ryno
Sometimes the apple works out well enough you can kind of make it into a phunnel. I've done it a few times, usually with apple shishas and it taste pretty good.
Tyler
Personally I love using Oranges, Blood Oranges, and Grapefruits. The jucier nature of them keep the tobacco wetter longer and makes it burn slower and produces more smoke. The flavor is saturating as well
LZ22
I use to go to this lounge and they had a special called "The Fireball". It was an orange bowl packed with orange tobacco. HOLY HELL it was phenomenal. It was still probably the best orange bowl I've ever had.

rcracer_tx
What type of coals do you all use when making fruit bowls? I almost always use coconaros, but would that be too hot of a coal and destroy the fruit?

dizzbizz
I tried the apple last night. I had a granny smith apple with AF Golden Esk. It was pretty good, but the apple didn't give off as much flavor as I expected. 20 minutes into the session I couldn't even tell the apple from the shisha anymore. The clouds were kind of weak but I noticed there was a leak where the bowl met the stem. Oh and I also used 3 halves of coconara's, that seemed to be enough heat the heat up the shisha. I also had a coal sitting directly on the apple's rim and it didn't burn, it just got dried out. Zero harshness during my session.
