Tuscani Posted February 18, 2010 Share Posted February 18, 2010 so I broke the Purge valve off my KM hafa... its repairable so thats good, but in the mean time I needed a hookah to use, so I snagged a temsaah stem from a buddy for 40 bucks and some Mizo mint, this stem he only ever smoked mint out of so I figure thats the way to go. I got this hookah going and OMG best mint hookah I have ever smoked! the airflow through the temsaah stem isn't as smooth as my hafa, but its def a good hookah. [/quote] I have that stem and I love it. I bought a temsah setup from hookahcompany's warehouse when I was in CA last month. Quality brass hookah. How far east are you Tuscani? I'm in Glendale. Its my Tangiers Green/White flavor hookah...I'm smoking watermelon/pomegranate. I like it. Mine developed taper split, which is common on brass tapers...but I still love it and use it a lot. Sonthert Posted February 19, 2010 Share Posted February 19, 2010 Taper split is where the brass sheet at the base of the taper physically splits, leaving a gap. If the top of the taper and its connection to the top of the hookah is secure, it will not affect the smoking. It may collect messy juice and water in it...but not affect the smoking. the 1st hookah I ever bought developed taper split and it was an excellent solid, machined Egyptian shank. It usually occurs right at the crimp between the metal collar and the top piece. As I look at it...I wonder if they cheat and just whack off the top of the taper to make a Syrian shank?
