mavsfan31
So I ordered some of John's new CH QL's and am having no luck with them. They are obviously harder to light, but once they are fully light the heat is only good for five minutes then the smoke immediately dies down. Its pretty hard to ash it (as compared to 3K and Golden). What can I do to make these last longer?
Codename067
If you can get us a video..that would be great..because the problem you are having with the heat dying out after 5 minutes is extremely odd. Any other detail?
Chreees
Very odd... But I don't like CH QL's anyway and didn't have a good time with them either...
Stuie
Haven't had the QL's yet... are you sure they are lighting all the way? Just a thought. Also are you smoking inside or outside? Are you using a windcover?
mavsfan31
I'll get a video going tonight. I'm lighting them until the "sparks" go all the way around the coal and the entire outside of the coal is grey and no longer dark. I'm smoking inside, and I'm not using a wind cover. Stuie
I would try popping on the windcover for a few minutes when you get started to help make sure they get fully lit.
Universal Magnetic
just ordered 2 boxes of these, looking forward to seeing the video!
hookah hippie
very strange I have never heard of a problem like this with CH coals turn off your light and see if the coals are glowing red
Sonthert
I believe the new shipments are denser, making them harder to light. They should last longer, though, which in my book is a plus. Who am I kidding? I use Japanese coals because they light off of each other...how long they burn is irrelevant. I know most people will like the burns longer idea though. chinamon
ive used my fair share of CH instant lights and never had an issue with them extinguishing.
