Yeah Rani, that's the plan. Hopefully I get a chance to here soon.

Just make sure you go to an artist supply store where the sales people are artists themselves. There's an amazing one in Orange County, California but not everybody is out this way. Tell them what you're doing and they'll guide you. Directions on the paints are helpful, but of course each product is trying to sell itself so they all claim they can do more than they really can. The salespeople if they're artists themselves will know exactly which products are perfect for what you're doing. And which are going to last.

Thanks Rani. I stripped the vase to where it's absolutely clear and I'm kinda diggin' it. I'm pretty sure I will paint it, but I'm in no rush... Clear looks pretty cool.

Either way I'm going to do research on the net as to what the best paint to use would be. People around here at stores are mindless zombies following what they're told to do... They have no knowledge whatsoever.

I'm actually going to buy a cheap vase to strip and then using glass adhesive do a design with small jewels - like the ones you can put on clothing? I'm thinking swirls of them running up the vase like flames - all in tiny jewels with the glass showing through between the fingers of the flames. It' won't only be unique, but easier to grip because of the raised jewels adhered to the glass. Clear vases have unlimited potential so yeah, they're very cool indeed.

I usually remove ALL the glitter on my bases if they have any. Get rid of all the extra glitter on your base and make it a clear base, then you can add you own design to it. Make it 100% unique. I did that once, it was a lot of work, but I ended up with a base that no one else had.

man, sorry to hear about the vase, that kinda sucks. I think im kinda jealous now though, you get to design your own! I would offer to trade you vases, but i don't think the shipping would be worth it, plus sounds like you are going to have a fun time with this now.

Chris, I think you should bejewel your base like Rani is talking about, that would be super cute... I do like the look of that completely clear base though, not bad.

Hahaha... I'm thinking about just adding some simple red and black bands to my vase around the neck and the bottom and use the symbols in Fineout's sketch.

Wow!!!

I mean I have seen some cheap bases, but man that's crappy.

Well i think it looks good clean!

I think repainting it or decorating it isn't a bad idea. I have a plain green glass base that I might do that to, that I got from H-S.

Jay's post about putting the HF t-shirt logo Jon Bon designed gave me an epic idea... Thanks Jay!

Joe, you have a PM... This is a surprise that hopefully Joe will be able to help me out with...

Woo, I don't like it when people quote posts with lots of pics!

Anyway... JOE made these for me. Custom-made... I doubt you could just find some like this for sale somewhere...
[/quote]

might have to find someone to do that for me lol
