hookahthis
three years pretty consistant, and nope
ryno
4 years now and I haven't noticed much difference. I don't think I would be a candidate for the health study though as I on and off smoke cigs. But from the times I have quit cigs, hookah doesn't seem to affect me like cigs would.
Toxik916
A little over two years but I probably only smoke about twice a month.
Travis
4 Years........at least once a day, with the occasional break. Also smoked cigarettes for 2 years until this past january, then i quit. I play alot of sports and am very active and have not noticed any health decline what so ever. I remember Tyler saying something about his lungs being over average from concentrated inhaling, when he received his physical. Im good.......so far. hookahlou
The only problems I've gotten from hookah related to health is smoking in a small room or a room with a low ceiling/lack of ventilation. You can feel all the smoke and charcoal tinge collecting in the room and you have to end up breathing more of it in. I recently had a hookah session send me into a solidified strep throat affair because of this. Never again in a small room.
NJE03
3 years. As far as smoking, I partake of hookah and pipe tobacco. My health has not been affected from my perspective in any negative way. The nicotine does help contribute to a state of relaxation however, which is a good thing. AKA
I had a hookah sesh that was a bowl on day two. Being the second coal the next day if you know what I mean. I havent smoked in like 3 weeks. I got really sick. I felt weak all over, like I used up a lot of adrenaline or something. Now Im constipated, bloated, and feel like shit.
K-A-R-P
About a year and a half. Only thing I can think of that would be health related is not being able to take as huge of rips as i was when i first started. But that might just be from the difference in hookah set ups. Codename067
Hm..about 6 years. I can tell you that I can run for shorter distances, I run out of breath faster, ect. I used to play soccer, and since stopping, I have not really worked out nor have I contrinued to keep my stamina up. So I am not sure if it's the smoking or just simply because I stopped exercising like I used to.
mattarios2
About 5-6. I am in the same boat as code, I only jog 20-30 min 2-3 times a week, before I started smoking I played many sports daily, especially in high school. But I don't anymore. When i run now, I notice no difference but I am obviously not in the shape i was when I was younger so I WOULD say its from not exercising enough, and hookah has only played a small part in not being in as good of shape as I was before, if at all. And I only smoke 1 bowl a day with 2-3 people (always) I don't smoke alone, and that is usually 5-6 days a week and usually take one day off a week. dizzbizz
A little more than 2 years. I haven't noticed any decrease in stamina or lung capacity since I work out consistently. But I haven't taken official lung tests.
Stuie
Started smoking in 2001. So 9 years or so. Started smoking daily 2-3 years ago. I have no known health issues to date.

cotsi95
3 1/2 years, pretty much 2-3 bowls a day. No real notice in change in health.
Jeff_T
I started in 2004, so I guess like 6 years. It's only been in the last 2-2.5 that I've been smoking almost everyday (I'd say at least 5 bowls/week). Haven't really noticed any changes to my health. I workout more now than I did when I started, so I'd say I'm in better shape. I've recently started running more and have no problems with shorter sprints or longer (4-5mi.) runs/jogs. Codename067
PS: Too early for health issues to arise. I think you need 15+ years of consistent smoking for any minor signs to appear..too early for every single one of us on the forum here.
Allstar
I have been smoking hookah only for the past month, but have tried multiple times over the past years. I will tell you the only time I had an issue was after an all night session. Like 5 or 6 bowls. I am in the military and usually run everyday. No problems. boludo
Since 2003, so about 7 years now. I don't notice any difference in health; although if something has happened, it has done so gradually, so I it would be difficult to notice
Venger
cigarettes 30 years maybe half to a pack a day. Hookah 7 months daily. I haven't noticed any big issues but its been so long I probably wouldn't notice. Dr has never said anything so I just keep on, keeping on.
