jelatin
Hey guys, I was browsing through various sites looking for decent hookah jars and they seemed ridiculously overpriced, and usually came with a brand label on them. So I went poking around on amazon and found: 12 pack of 133g jars - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UZPFZ0/ and 6 pack of 453g jars - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0015ZD29U/ You can also get single jars of each type, but really, who needs just 1 jar? Anyone have any better recommendations before I go jar shopping?

Deutsch am Herzen
the grocery store. lol. serisously though, i get that lunch meat that comes in glad containers and just re-use those for shisha. they're basically free so...
thatonethere
I just use Ziplock tupperware for smaller amounts, and re use the tubs that come with my 250g shisha purchases.
PSU Smoker
You gotta get the tupaware where the bottom of one container locks into the lid of the other container...great for storage of 50g packs and for 250g packs just buy a pack of takealongs, they are plastic, easy to store or take on the go, and fit 250g without a problem
PSU Smoker
I would say tho if I had the cash and my hookah didnt like to tavel soo much those would be nice jars =)

Stuie
I use Lock and Locks but because they discontinued my size. Thinking of moving to the Pyrex with the rubber lids. I would go with the larger ones...soon you will be like "man I want to keep a kilo of this around!"

dizzbizz
Gladware for me just bought ten of these. Fits 250g easily, enough room to stir too.

We sell them at Target for like $3 a 4 pack I believe. I normally buy the 4 pack thats wider than it is shallower this way it will acclimate better. More surface area = more air contact. jelatin
Thanks for the tip on the mason jars at wal-mart. I've used ziplock / gladware before, but I'm kind of a prissy bitch when it comes to my hookahs. I like to see the shisha all laid out in nice, matching jars

KeepItSimple
I'm with everyone else on the tupperware bandwagon. It works best for me and it's the cheapest, but thanks for posting about where to get the mason jars, because I wanted to switch to those soon. jelatin
Just a little update, I bought both of the jar types I listed in the beginning as well as the one recommended to me. I think they turned out pretty well. The big jars are perfect for 250g, the small ones perfect for 100g. thatonethere
^^^ That's a great way to store shisha, especially if you want to save that particular type for special occasions. I thought about vacuum sealing a few mixes for that reason alone (holiday mixes). Edited March 16, 2010 by thatonethere
